I love the innovative 2-in-1 spout that lets me sip through the straw or swig from the wide-mouth opening—perfect for both quick sips at the gym and chugging after a hike. I love that the bottle has a large capacity (40 oz) but still fits well in backpack bottle holders (if it can hold a 32 oz Nalgene, it can hold the 40 oz Owala). The sipping straw feature built into the mouthpiece is surprisingly comfortable and very easy and convenient to use regardless if you're sipping or swigging. The design of the mouthpiece also makes it very easy to clean compared to other sipping bottles like a bite valve bottle. The stainless steel vacuum interior holds water temperature very well and is very easy to clean, especially with the wide mouth opening when the cap is removed. The cap secures very well and you can feel the tight seal when you close it, giving you confidence that it won't leak. The silicone seal for the mouthpiece also can be removed very easily for cleaning and the carrying handle folds in very well and locks in securely. Everything locks into place with a very satisfying, secure click.The one caveat, or limitation, of the bottle is that the seal on the mouth piece is so effective that it can cause the straw to store water when you remove the cap when the bottle is full. This may lead to some spillage from the end of the straw if the mouthpiece seal is opened after the removal of the straw. Also, when filling the bottle, be sure to replace the cap with the mouthpiece seal open or some water may shoot out of the mouthpiece when you open the seal as the water rushes into the straw when the air is released. In my opinion, this is a very minor issue.Overall, the bottle has quickly become my everyday water bottle. It fits into my bag's bottle pockets very well and is great for leaving on my desk at work to sip water from while also being great to take swigs from while at the gym, or when I'm especially thirsty. The simple design makes it easy to clean and the stainless steel interior holds temperature very well while being plastic free.

Like to challenge yourself to see if you can drink from both at once? Still got you covered. Do you hate having to make several trips a day to whatever water source you may use due to a 24 ounce insulated water bottle you've been using? Well this one will cut that time in half with 40 ounces.Not only all that but the spout where your lips go feels comfortable. Hard plastic will forever be my choice of spout/straw/whatever over some rubbery textured thing. It just feels right for me. This is the most versatile water bottle in terms of ways to drink in an industry where there's usually only 2 options. This has a third and its glorious. It's ergonomic, doesn't spill (unless you forget to put the cap down, but duh), and it doesn't dent easily (I'm looking at you contigo).I've dropped these several times on concrete in my garage getting home from work or getting out of my car at the parking lot at work and the paint has barely chipped. I think there's one tiny spec I can find without looking under a microscope of where the paint has chipped. It's built like a tank. Other than that the cap and locking mechanism work well. They haven't let me down yet.If you're listening Owala, Thank you. You are truly an innovative brand with a keen sense of detail and a knack for quality. This is my third Owala water bottle. I'm never buying another brand again. Period. My search for the perfect water bottle has ended here.

I bought this water bottle about 8 months ago and I have loved it. I use it every single day. I drink a lot of water so I’m sure I put more wear on the bottle than most people, but the spring mechanism failed. There are two springs that fling the cap open. The legs of the springs are set into two small holes in the plastic. Over time the spring has worn away the plastic around the hole causing the springs to pop out. The water bottle is still functional, it’s just kinda annoying to use now. Overall would recommend, but design should be updated to fix this issue.

Very happy with this bottle. Love having the two drinking options. And so far I have been happy with how cold it keeps my water.
