Yes, you will have to put a couple of dabs of glue to hold the two parts together. Very weird/strange that they don't interlock at all. But once you do, well made and versatile. It took me a bit to figure out, but the screw on the bottom expands the part in the CD slot to make it secure. Well worth $9 and two dabs of glue. I wouldn't try super glue since the parts have to slide into place. I would suggest Goop, Loctite Stik 'n Seal, silicone rubber, or similar.

I guess it does the job, not too stable and the screw broke on me after a week. Not what I expected but you get what you pay for I guess.

Material is good. Great for an iPad and also on your regular phone. Complains: 1. Using an iPad, you have to make sure you have the tab fully extended to keep it in place in the CD slot. Since the iPad is heavy. But works great fir anything smaller like a Samsung note 9. 2. It can be easily pulled off, even the tab is fully extended. But can be push back easily.

I really like that this mount utilized the cd slot. It’s in the perfect location. I really would have liked for it to last. We used it everyday for two months before it gave out. Durability on this item can use some work. We had an iPad (2018) on it, thank goodness it was not damaged when the mount failed or I’d be singing a different tune. We are looking to buy another CD mount just one that is a lot more sturdy.

I’m actually very surprised with this mount. I have it in a 14 Ford Explorer. With a iPad 7th gen. There is very little movement, even at 80mph on a New York highway. I also have very loud sound system(lots of bass). Never falls or moves. Doesn’t even like lean down. Stays perfectly still. For $15 I honestly didn’t think it would hold up. 2 weeks still going strong.

Awful tablet holder, actually. The piece that actually holds the tablet doesn't secure into the part that goes in the CD slot, AT ALL. It just hooks into some holes, and not even very well. The first little bump my car went over, the thing went flying off and sent my tablet down under the seat of my car. Avoid this one, guys.

If you're looking for the neighborhood bitch then you came to the right place. She's semi-attractive, does the job half as well as you'd like but never stays on her feet (which I suppose that's why all the boys are in the yard). Interpretation: This is a two-piece set, which makes absolutely no sense. The mount piece installs in the car as it should, but then grip piece for your device just hooks into the mount with 4 teeth in the back that can easily be rocked out of place while driving. I don't understand the justification for making this a two-piece mount kit. That being said, you can make it much more secure by dropping some Gorilla glue on the back and bonding the two pieces... like how the manufacturer should have done in the first place. For the price point (which is really low), I'd recommend spending 3 more dollars for a better mount.
