It was ok not the best book I have read but the plot twist was decent tho
I enjoyed it it was a simple thriller not too twisted not too gory, good for a beginner, did it keep me up at night?? No . And the drugged narrator is a common plot so i expect that much

Gripping
Bwaahahhaaaaaaaa!I've never been so proud or pleased with myself for guessing the turn of events and the killer right from just the initial chapters itself.(Don't worry won't be spoiling it).🕯Despite knowing/guessing the plot, I'd definitely like to say how addictive the story was.The writing was easy-going, flow-y & not at all hard to keep up with. I loved the writing so much that I finished it in one sitting!🕯A mesmerizing debut filled with emotions, drama, family & mental health.

Ingenious writing.
Six girls went missing when Chloe Davis was twelve years old. During investigation the police found something that pointed towards her father, Richard Davis and he was arrested and sentenced for doing something terrible with those girls. Now twenty years later, Chloe has found her love in Daniel Briggs who's caring and loving. Then one day a girl goes missing and later her body was found and then another girl goes missing but this time Chloe knew that girl. The nightmare is happening again and her father's anniversary is coming. Who's doing all this and why?Told from a single POV of Chloe in present and past, this story is really brilliant. It made my interest from the first page to the last. Characters are brilliantly written with an excellent narration. I can't believe that it's a debut novel. It's a masterpiece.I loved the characters of Chloe, Daniel, Cooper and Mona. Other characters are good too.Overall this story is really brilliant and a work of an ingenious author. Highly recommended.

What a freaking DEBUT!
Stacy Willingham’s debut novel A Flicker In The Dark has already captured the attention of all and sundry with all the right noises including a TV show in the making and phew I thought my mile-high expectations would itself spoil the fun but OH MY, what an absolute WOWZER this turned out to be…There are many psychological thrillers in the market currently but to write one that causes whiplash in the reader with breathtaking twists adding to the thrill and especially seeing that it is just the first novel by the author I think Stacy Wellingham has firmly established her calibre. The story does have the tried and tested formula of a broken heroine, but not completely an unreliable narrator. Chole is more or less a walking pharmacy popping pills to keep herself moving forward after the trauma that has destroyed her family but thankfully not that far gone into la la land where she questions her sanity. The author’s writing is fantastic, there is an eerie sense of impending doom and also a kind of emotional mayhem as Chole senses a déjà vu of events repeating in her life. The story is peppered with red herrings, honestly, I went about suspecting every single character in the novel and each time, the author brings forth another shocking surprise that had me reeling. The story being narrated thru Chole’s POV plays out like a TV show, each event causing an exciting reveal and it is fairly easy to guess why this story would appeal as a series on screen.Riveting and utterly gripping, A Flicker In The Dark is a must-read for fans of thrillers. Many thanks to NetGalley, HarperCollins, and the author for a chance to read and review this book. All opinions are expressed voluntarily.

Absolutely Gripping...
Chloe Davis grew up in the swamp lands in Beaux Bridge ..In the long hot summer of 1999, when Chloe was twelve years old ..six little girls go missing ..and Chloe's father is incarcerated and put away .As the people of Beaux Bridge try to cope with the aftermath, Chloe and her brother Cooper's life is changed forever ..Now, twenty years later on the Anniversary of the girls going missing ..another young girl has disappeared, and for Chloe , now a psychologist, who is getting ready to marry the man of her dreams ..it brings back the nightmares all over again .For Chloe in her sleep she has nightmares, awake she has such thoughts..not sure of which is worse. Could there be a copy cat killer at work here? So much misdirection...never knowing who to trust ...What evil forces are at work here ? To the lady in Waterstones, Princes Street , Edinburgh...who told me this was their book of the week ..and to trust her ..its brilliant...you were right ..A Flicker in The Dark is most definitely my kind of Phychological thriller...that kept me right on the very edge of my seat...all the way through...5 Stars Gripping...
