The lens is good for most phones that too without cover. But for phones whose camera sensor is far behind the camera hood, it creates a dark vignette around the edges. Not only dark vignettes, it also distorts the blur Bokeh shapes around the edges. And it doesn't look nice. It looks artificial. But if your camera has it's sensor closer to the outer glass, then you can use it. The same problem arises when you use a mobile cover with any phone. The lens cover will keep the lens mount at a distance from the phone camera and you will again have the same price bpem, and get those dark vignettes.
