Perfect for 40 gallon breeder tank
I had been keeping my 40 gallon breeder tank on my kitchen counter but really wanted to clear up the space so I bought this tank stand. It fits the dimensions of my tank perfectly and is very sturdy. It looks like it's wood, but the leg support system is metal and feels high quality. Building the actual stand took less than an hour and I definitely recommend you have a drill to drill the doors on the stand because doing it by hand would be tough. I love that there's doors on it and allows for storage of fish food and other fish supplies. It also has a hole in the back to allow for wire management. I use the bottom shelf to store two of the Costco 12 gallon bins that fit perfectly. I store other fish supplies in the two bins and it really helps keep the area clean. Definitely would recommend this tank stand. It's the best one that encompasses functionality, aesthetic, and cost.

Nice, but use your own screwdriver
Nice solid stand. For better strength, the small screw holes are marked but not actually drilled. So you have to apply some force to the screws for them to bite and the included screwdriver sucks. I won't take stars off for that, because it's not that hard to walk into the other room and get a proper screwdriver. Finished product is attractive and sturdy with leveling feet.

Love it!
This thing is so sturdy and was super easy to put together. It looks pricey without the high price tag. Fits perfectly in our little space.

Beautiful stand..but..
The stand looks amazing, but the one side had holes that didn't match the other side, and after many hours trying to figure out what I had done wrong,my boyfriend found out that the one side was put one upside down by the manufacturer, but fortunately,it was an easy fix, where he had to take the plywood side out and turn it around to match the other side. Also, the top,the holes didn't match up with the stand,so the front half isn't screwed in,but thankfully, the back holes matches up. We just have to be extremely careful in moving it,otherwise the top will come completely off. It is a very sturdy stand otherwise, but very frustrating to build.

Amazing stand
Im usually someone who looks through reviews and sees a few bad ones and decides to look for a different item, but im so happy i didnt with this. Its such a beautiful stand and holds my 40gal very well! Completely sturdy and im very happy with the result. Some other reviews mentioned issues with the doors and i will say that they are a bit finicky, as they arent fully flush with everything and are a bit off when i try to close them but its probably an issue with how i attached them. Even if it wasn't i couldnt care less because of how nice and strong it is, i was very concerned with if it'd hold my tank. Very happy with it!!!

Nice stand, and good customer service
Bought this stand for the kids 40 gallon terrarium and it works perfectly for that. I put it together by myself in about an hour, and I took my time. You don't technically need any tools as they supply some, however I recommend you grab your own Philips screwdriver. Directions aren't the greatest, but not hard to follow either. All parts are labeled. Once assembled it feels solid, yet light enough to easily move by myself. Now as for my experience with customer service, it was pretty good. I put the entire stand together and went to put the final cabinet door on when I find one of the hinges was defective (some pins not slotted right). I email customer service as it says to on the box that evening, and they responded the next morning. I was asked for the part number and some contact info and mailed me a new hinge. Came standard mail a few days later and I was able to finish assembling the stand. All in all happy with my buy and would recommend.

Great alternative
I'm starting up a 40 gallon aquarium and had purchased Imagitarium's 'Brooklyn' metal aquarium stand. After assembling that stand and putting the tank on it, it quickly became apparent that the corners of that stand were not at all level and were not providing proper support to the aquarium. Over time, that would have caused the tank to leak and/or crack, neither outcome being something I wanted to risk. I saw this stand and immediately ordered it, as it has everything I wanted. A steel frame, a solid one-piece top, a closed cabinet and levelling feet (my 100 year old house has badly off-level floors, and levelling feet are a must). Construction took about 90 minutes and it went together well and pretty easily. It was also extremely well packaged for shipping. The only negatives are that you wouldn't be able to fit a canister filter or CO2 system in the stand (neither the cabinet or the shelf have enough height), and as others have noted there's just not enough height on the open shelf for a second tank to be practical, regardless of the manufacturer's advertising copy.
