Before purchasing this I owned the (GC7840/26) model which is still available for £99.99 and whilst it was very good and performed faultlessly for 4 years, it wasn't quite cutting it so I treated myself to an upgrade with this one. I chose this model as it seems to offer more bang for your buck than the more expensive but older variations. It also looks super cool in the navy and gold livery. Anyway it came the next day, very well packed complete with de-calc tray and instruction book though I didn't really need that as it is very easy to use. The water reservoir is easily removable for easy filling under the tap and slots nicely back in before powering up. One fill will last a long time. If you are concerned about the size and weight of the unit, don't be as it can go on the floor and you still have plenty of lead to work with without stretching. No need to but a special board. Once powered up, you just wait for a minute or two for the beeps and you are good to go. You use the trigger for the steam and with no temperature gauge you can switch between cottons and delicates with no wait. It's the steam pressure that does the trick and it does so VERY well making ironing less of a chore and so much faster compared to a conventional iron. Note you may experience a bit of whistling/screeching on the first few uses but that soon goes. You will need to de-calc every few weeks especially if you live in a hard water area but that is easy enough. Just make sure you have plenty of water in the tank and place it in the tray provided. Hold the decalc button and stand back whilst it does it's thing. I do it outdoors as it generates a lot of steam. This is definitely the best iron I've used and is good deal at around £170. It's a decent upgrade on the GC7840/26 and definitely money well spent.

My son has one of these and I've been using it when there, for the last couple of years. The best iron I've ever used. It's so lightweight, sleek, easy to de-calc and effortless. I'm a fussy ironer and this ticks all the boxes, even clothes that are normally too dry to iron without damping them first, are left with no creases. My iron at home has just stopped steaming. Had had buy a product to de-scale before which was messy. Enough is enough so I ordered this at a massively reduced price plus an extra £30 off for Black Friday; what a bargain! Cant wait to tackle my laundry now

I never thought I'd rave about an iron let alone pay this much for one but honestly, it's one of the best household gadgets I've ever purchased. It's lightweight and comfortable to use and the steam generator is second to none, hefty continuous blasts whenever you need them. It's also a doddle to use as there's no need to set the temperature - there's literally no dial, I don't know how it works but I've gone from a thick shirt to a silk blouse and it removes creases effortless but not burned a thing. It's also really smart, I live in a very hard water area which regularly clogs and destroys things but the iron monitors itself and warns when it needs a clean, then with the push of a button, it cleans itself through into the provided tray expelling all the built up muck in under 2 mins. Honestly, yes it's expensive but it's well worth the money!

Our last Philips steam generator iron lasted over 7yrs and I’ve no doubt this will be the same. Big steam pressure, easy gliding and does everything you’d want it to - so it’s an excellent choice for sure. Minor gripes would be: doesn’t stand on it’s own (but it auto shuts off so you can just put it on the ironing board while you’re moving clothes about); wire organisation is not as good as our old model (a bit fiddly); and emptying the water out when you’ve finished is quite poor as the water tank design makes it unnecessarily time consuming (you have to lift and shake simultaneously…but you get used to it). Overall it’s worth the money as it does everything you’d expect and will last many years.

The best iron I have ever owned, it’s absolutely brilliant, no burnt clothes, so easy to use. You won’t be disappointed.

My Phillips PerfectCare 6000 series steam iron has failed again. It is still with the 2 year guarantee having been purchased oIn July 2024 & reoaured once before. Once again it has stopped steaming. The pilot light is working intermittently. Are you able to repair it ince again.

I will admit that it took a little bit to learn how to use it properly, but after that whether in autosense or manual, a great iron for me. Steam and pressure is great.

This replaced my 15 year old Philips generator iron. I was amazed at the power of the steaming, so much so that it was too much in the heatwave! This is an excellent iron. Automatically adapting to whatever material you are ironing is brilliant. The only thing I'm not impressed with is the steam tube tidy. Firstly, there is nowhere to put the electric cable and secondly the place given for the steam cable is so difficult to use. The cable is very stiff and solid so trying to curve it into the specified grooves is really hard to do especially as I'm arthritic. I wish that being a high end iron they had designed that part better. Of course it may not bother many, but I wanted a smaller iron than I had, which could be stored easily. It does fit that criteria, but extremely difficult to do for me. It's a nice light weight and because of the iron lock to the base, easy to carry around. I'm hoping it lasts me like my previous Philips iron did. I would recommend this as it does speed up ironing and do a great job.

The unit that was delivered was defective. Upon filling the water tank, the base of the unit continously drips.

Devo ammettere, soldi ben spesi. Preso oltretutto con la rateizzazione Amazon in 5 mesi, non senti questo peso. Essendo solo in alcuni periodi dell'anno, cercavo un qualcosa che, non mi facesse impazzire per stirare di tutto e districarmi tra programmi vari pulsanti e ghiere. Ma soprattutto, qualcosa con un'autonomia di capi da stirare senza dover continuamente riempire il serbatoio. Trovato 😃 Questo é il ferro che cercavo. Basta accenderlo, aspettare meno di un minuto che si riscaldi e stirare. Non si deve fare assolutamente nulla. Fà tutto da solo, vapore continuo in automatico, non appena si muove il ferro, il quale poi, si regola sempre da solo, in base al tipo di tessuto del capo. Basta una passata da un solo lato, che stira anche sotto, ferro leggerissimo che scivola che è una meraviglia, grande autonomia di vapore, col serbatoio da quasi due litri. Ho stirato anche per più di un'ora, e ho consumato poco meno della metà d'acqua, ma chi è più pratico, può consumare anche meno, bello anche da vedere, colori accattivanti e linea spaziale. Consigliatissimo a chiunque cerchi qualcosa di semi professionale con zero pensieri. Veramente un ottimo affare.

sinceramente la mejor plancha y centro de plancha que he comprado, y llevamos muchas y siempre de marcas buenas. Lo mejor? no preocuparse por la temperatura, poder planchar un vaquero y inmediatamente después una prenda delicada, no quema la tabla al reposar la plancha directamente allí, es súper manejable e ligero, no empapa, vapor constante pero controlada, poder quitar arrugas en un pis pas planchando en vertical… estoy encantada con ella, tuve suerte porque conseguí 100 euro de descuento los días de Amazon, pero sin promoción sabiendo lo que ya se, lo hubiera comprado igual. Me quita horas de trabajo desagradable y esto no tiene precio!
