I like to use a mask or peel on a regular basis on my skin to keep it smoother and hopefully younger looking so I ordered this WOW Skin Science Activated Charcoal Natural Clay Face Mask Skin Care with Bentonite Clay. I like the WOW brand which uses wonderful fragrances (note here, the labels do state that it contains fragrance so if that is a problem this might be a pass for you.)This particular mask smells like Coast Soap to me. I let some friends take a sniff and they all agreed. It is a nice fresh smell, but not a natural smell.I put it on my face and relaxed while it did it's thing. I actually ended up leaving it on a bit longer than it says to. I jumped in the shower and washed it off. I had it on pretty thick so it did take a couple of times through with a wash cloth but my skin did feel good afterwards and I had no negative reactions to the mask.I followed up with some youth serum and moisturizer.Overall, I am happy with this mask and will continue to use it. My face was saying that it was happy with the mask because it seemed brighter and it definitely opened the pores because I had more oil on my skin than usual during the day meaning my pores were not clogged so it did it's job.As always with the WOW brand so far, I like the product, it is a generous amount and the price is very competitive.This product was made in India

This activated charcoal mask is pretty similar to any other that I have tried. It is a once or twice a week treatment for which you apply the clay like charcoal across your face, avoiding your eye areas. The mask applies wet and a dark gray. You know that it is time to rinse the mask off when the mask dries a light gray and sometimes shows some cracking aim areas where you may have wrinkles or may have moved your face during the drying time. The one benefit to this mask as opposed to others is the holistic approach of the brand which lends to a cleaner products. Overall, again, there’s not much that sets us apart from any other activated charcoal mask . That being said, there is nothing to deter a consumer away from buying this mask and purchasing another on the market. It is a good product. There’s just nothing that really stands out as an “I can’t live without the mask”.

The Wow activated charcoal mask was not what I expected but still quite good at drawing out impurities from the pores. I thought it would be more of an absorbent bentonite or kaolin based clay mask but it's actually pretty moisturizing with ingredients such as isopropyl myristate, EVOO, sweet almond oil, and shea butter.The mask applied and spread smoothly because of the creamy texture and did not dry or tingle the skin. It's also heavily scented. I did find some of my sebaceous filaments pulled out a bit after washing the charcoal mask off, but they still require some light pressure with an acne needle or tweezers to remove.

I really enjoyed using this face mask. It has a perfect consistency to it and goes on smoothly. I left it on for about 20 minutes and it had the perfect amount of tingle on my pores. Is has a very masculine smell to it but I liked it. It washed off my face fairly easy with a cloth after use. Left my skin red for about 30 minutes or so. After the redness went away it left my skin looking bright and feeling clean and soft. My nose looked better, as if some of the blackheads were washed away when removing the mask. I look forward to using it again.

So I feel like for an average person this would be a good product. I unfortunately started to break out (acne) when using it. I haven't had a break out in years so I knew this was causing it. After the acne went away and I stopped using the product my skin did feel softer. So it did work, but I'm really not sure I should start using it again for fear I'll just break out again too.
