4-4.5 stars
i bought this and a slightly different one for my self and my son. we like the other one slightly better because this one the button is recessed into the handle which makes it a little more difficult to push. so far we have only played with it for a day but are happy so far. it is made of sturdy material, fit and finish is well done. colors and sound are pretty good.the only draw back is the settings and directions are difficult to figure out. after some fiddling and experimenting we figured it out. I didn't find the directions very helpful.when saber is lit you can hold the button down for 1, 2,3,or 4 flashes to change different settings for the blade.based off memory right now:2 is color change then push the button 1 each time to cycle through the different colors. you then have to hold the button down for a few seconds to deactivate the blade to lock in that setting.3 is blade lighting, strobe, pulse or solidyou can do a quick push of the button to do a baster block effect, or a long 1 sec push to do a saber vs saber locked in combat effect then push it again to resume normal mode.when the saber is not lit hold the button down for 1,2,3,4 or 5 flashes to change the sound effects.1 = volume - low, high or mute2 = sound effects for lighting the blade and clashing effects, thisis signified by a different characters voice from one of the movies.3= plays theme music4 = motion effects on or off5= clash effects on or off

Girlfriend loves this!!
My girlfriend is a huge starwars fan and played with this thing for hours, even before I fully screwed it in so was scary!! The pros outweigh the cons but it was worth every penny I spent. The colors of red, purple, blue, green, etc are very full and bright. The sound effects of the different modes was cool and I'm sure you can find the sound that goes well with your color (if I'm not mistaken, there are at least 4-5 modes). The durability of the blade part is surprisingly good as I've seen it take a wall, table, and floor without breaking or bending. However there are some cons that are noticable. The sound effects are cool, however you really don't know what sound will give you what effect. There are some that are obvious, and some that made me wonder what it even was. Navigation of the saber can be a bit tricky even after using instructions. For those reading, if you hold the button it will flash up to 4 times. Each individual flash on the button itself does something different and on the final flash it turns the saber off. So changing the color of the saber you would have to wait for it to flash twice then you can tap the button to change the color. There were times that we would swing the saber and the effects didnt work without realizing that you have to "lock" the color in for it to work again. There is also a silent mode which you access by holding it as well. My final con would be that although you can turn the saber on by twisting , etc. I found it easier and less of an issue to just hold the button to access what I need or to turn it off. If you do like the twist and movement controls, then that could be something you can do. Overall, we love it. I kinda want one myself.PROS:-It does have sound effects when you swing and multiple different types of sounds for the occasion-The saber itself is durable, I've seen it hit things full force (on accident)-The colors are very nice, very vibrant.-The handle feels firm-Once screwed in correctly, the saber does not come apart easily-Sounds have a volume control so you can turn it down if it's too loud-Easy to assembleCONS:-Menu can be kinda tricky to navigate even with instructions-Sound effects take a while to understand what you will get based on selection-Motion controls work, but not 100% effective-Instructions could be a bit more clear

Killer for the price
I snagged one on sale and while the regular price of about $110 seems fair, the sale price is an absolutely great deal for any Sith lord and a fine addition to any collection.Sounds- Excellent, although they can be confusing as there are two fonts that indicate they are vader's but sound different. Speaker quality is nothing great, it sounds a bit hollow but it's loud and formidable nonetheless. A bit too loud for quiet duels however even on the low setting.Hilt- Sleek metal construction and a beautiful design, just be careful to thread the screws correctly when charging the battery. It is rather heavy feeling though. Duelists will find greater speed and agility with a lighter model.Blade- After lots of medium-heavy intensity dueling, the blade is holding up fine. Scratches on the surface, but these are unavoidable and overall not noticeable unless you're really looking from up close. Dissipates the RBG light nicely but there is a small ring at the top that stands out. Not a problem personally but if it bothers you buy a neopixel.Lights- Very bright, moreso than the cheaper 2-pack sabers. Being an in-hilt design the light does fade towards the top but it's not to an extreme degree. The colors are satisfying but could be a little more accurate, for example orange and yellow could be more distinguished and the purple is a little too light.Effects- All works well, although the up-down orientation on my "sense" controls seems to be reversed. Not a problem though. FOC works fine, it loses some sensitivity in the middle of the blade so not every hit registers there. Different glow modes are easy to switch between, blaster sounds are nice. My one complaint is the "blade-lock" effect only flashes white, even if you have another color selected. Other cheaper models flash between white and the selected color.
