The only review you need!
If you have an S8 Active and you are looking at this case, like me, you REALLY want a durable phone/case combo. So far this case is exactly what I was looking for. However this case may not be for everyone. These are the top 5 issues in the 1/2 star reviews:1) It is for the S8 active2) It adds some bulk (protection)3) It has a screen protector and at times you can see it (in direct sunlight)4) It has no belt clip5) It's value priced and will probably get scratched up (better the $20 case, not the $850 phone).Things I was very pleased with:1) The buttons all have a solid, not mushy feel.2) The screen protector does not affect the look or feel of the phone at all.3) The ports in the bottom have covers.4) There is a decent bevel around the screen and back camera lens to protect from drops.5) The case feels very solid and looks great. The one and only con was the construction of the screen protector itself. I'm used to having a tempered glass screen protector on my phone. It makes me feel warm, fuzzy, and safe having that extra glass layer. This screen protector is plastic. It may be overkill but I really want glass protecting my screen. I'm going to install one on my screen tomorrow and see if that works with this case.I'm seriously happy with this purchase. I considered getting a waterproof case (overkill with the phone being waterproof) but want to protect it as much as possible. I steered away from the waterproof case because of the affect it had on the flash and sound quality. S8 Active = durable, S8 Active with this case = bullet proof, S8 Active with this case and a glass screen protector = indestructible?

Disappointed
I'm not thrilled with this case for several reasons. The plastic "screen protector" is worse than useless, especially since I already have a glass screen shield on my S8 Active. As other reviewers have mentioned, somehow, debris gets underneath the shield, making it worse. I removed the plastic shield so I could get better touch response & not have to daily remove case to get debris from under shield. The black portion has to be positioned "just right" to get the button presses to work, and even then, I am still having trouble, especially when trying to take screenshots.Taking "selfies" is affected by the shape of the cut out for the front facing camera. This often leads to improper lighting & blur. There needs to be several improvements made, so this case for the Galaxy S8 Active gets only 2 stars from me. I've ordered other cases to try, that's how unhappy I am with this, after a month(?) of breaking in.I don't recommend this particular case for the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active.

Small downsides, but a solid buy
This case is pretty good. I normally prefer Otterbox, but couldn't find one for my S8 Active, so chose this. It's sturdy, has a screen protector, and keeps my ports plugged so no dirt gets inside them. Only 2 downsides to this case.1. The screen protector makes a small "click" with every tap. I don't notice it often, but at night it can annoy those trying to sleep next to you. Swipe typing helps.2. Small particles get inside the case and under the screen protector. Nothing major, but it annoys me to feel it while touching my screen, so after a long day with my phone in my pocket, i usually have to take the case off, wipe off the inside and the screen of my phone, then reassemble. Luckily the case isn't hard to disassemble once you learn the trick to it, but it can be a minor annoyance. All in all, I'm pretty happy with this case. It's already protected me from a few scratches and a drop, so it's worth the buy.

This is a great case for the S8 Active
This is a great case for the S8 Active... it adds some bulk, but for me personally it makes it easier to hold... I can return to the two finger top hold thumb swipe without hitting the screen... The only problems I have encountered is that with a screen protector iris recognition doesn't work, not sure why, maybe just my tiny little eyes, and since you are tapping higher than normal with the screen protector the responsiveness of the screen feels slower, so you may not like if you are into super fast clicky phone games, but not bad in normal usage... swipe typing still super fast... also nearer the edges of the screen if you have sausage fingers like mine you sometimes tap the case edge... it was easy to install, no problems with the port covers or anything... it does what it was meant to do, protects my expensive phone from me crushing the screen by rolling over a pack of Allen wrenches while lying on the floor working on a machine at work, and does it well...

Extremely great value...easily worth more!
I LOVE THIS CASE!It covers my entire phone. Both the screen and the back case are protected by a sturdy, see-thru plastic shield that is surrounded by a strong rubber material that helps absorb some of the shock when the phone is dropped or falls from a table or desk.Case also has covered openings for headphone use and charging port. The coverings are secure and show no signs of breaking off like with cases for other phones I've owned.Buttons to control the on/off switch are perfectly aligned to access access the functions they control.

and I love this case
About two weeks in, and I love this case. I've already dropped my phone multiple times (the reason why I got the Active in the first place) and the case is basically undamaged, and only have minor scratched on the case screen, while the phone itself has taken zero damage.TWO things that I don't like:1) The case is so thick that a plug in Square Reader won't fit into the auxiliary area. It's a problem if you deal with using a swipe reader on the day to day. This is more of a specific thing that I doubt any case manufacturer should take into account, but it is a thing.2) Getting the top-down menu to actually come down is tricky sometimes. I think the case leans just a tiny bit too far over the screen, so you have to kind of learn/get the feel for how to do it. But a day of practice and you should be good to go.But this case definitely will keep your phone safe. Would buy again.
