Very sturdy cord
I installed this product on an overhead 1 ton trolley hoist in our shop. I was impressed on the overall quality & ruggedness of it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars for "stretch", is that it was extremely stiff when I first installed it. So much so, that when we'd extend the trolley hoist out to it's furthest position (approx 13' out), the cord will actually pull the trolley back about 18". It's been about a month since installing it, and it now has stretched out so that it doesn't pull the hoist back...but it also doesn't seem to recoil back as strongly when the hoist is moved back to it's closest position to the post. But overall, it's an extremely well made cord.

Not a household item
I usually start my reviews with package information but I purchased this item through warehouse deals so there is no packaging to refer to.On the male plug end: Conntek CIS-001H hospital grade. On a sticker on the wire: Conntek.com 414-482-0800 On the wire itself: 12AWG 105(degrees)C 300V VW-1. On the female end: Conntek CIS-170-1 E316473. Cable diameter: 7/16" coiled length: approx 6' weight: 4.5lbs color: white. The female plug end is a NEMA 5-20 T-slot however the male end is a NEMA 5-15 which would indicate a 15 amp max current draw. There is a retaining wire cage wrap near the male plug end which has a separate sticker: Amtec Corp Plainfield, CT 06374 Listed 4D55 Dry location only. According to a question I asked the seller this item is made in China. At almost 5lbs this is not a lightweight extension cord. The coils are quite stiff requiring some effort to extend the cable to it's full length. The wire retainer at the male end would necessarily need to be secured to the wall near the outlet in order for this cord to be extended...it wouldn't stay plugged in otherwise. Think of a piece of machinery that needs to move back and forth a few feet and you don't want the cable dragging on the floor. This is the kind of cord you're looking at here. Suitable for an industrial or commercial setting but not something to bring out to power your floor lamp. I'll be using it in my shop to run some heavy gauge power tools.I got a deal on it so it was worth it for me, but all full price you'll likely want to have a specific purpose in mind before you shell out the money. If you're looking for a lighter-weight version try the made in USA Flexy-Cords like this one: Flexy Coiled Extension Cord 14 Gauge 15 Amps - Extends From 5 In. To 8 Ft.

Multiple use extension cord.
Excellent extension cord. Heavy duty high performance. I have purchased two of these so far. Planning to purchase more. Use them as hanging cords over a work bench for powered tools and work lights. Solid construction.

SJT-rated Extension Cord
This SJT cord is not rated for outdoor use, so I use it in my basement, away from water and in a semi-permanent location. Good quality, heavy-duty cord with limited-use possibilities.

When they say "Heavy Duty" they are not kidding!
I bought this with the idea that it would make a convenient way to use the electric start on my snow blower, the idea is that cord would stay out of the way when not needed. Didn't work out for two reasons; 1st the female end would not fit the snow blower because the plug is so large. Second, the cord is so stiff that when I pulled on it to extend it, it pulled the electrical junction box right off the stud in the garage! The cord comes with a metal braided tether which is suppose to be attached to the wall to prevent the plug from being pulled out of the wall socket. Believe me it is needed if you are going to try and stretch out the cord at all. It is clear that this cord was made for applications like hospital equipment. It's best use would be for a piece of heavy equipment on wheels. With the cord firmly attached to the wall, it would allow you to move the device away from the wall and positioned in anywhere within the relative vicinity of the outlet while keeping the cord out from under foot. While this did not suit what I bought it for I am keeping it since I'm sure I'll find a use for it. The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is that even though this is a very heavy duty cord, I think it could have been made of more flexible materials to allow a better extension. As it is, you extend this cord very much, it will pull back whatever it is you are trying to use. So its useful range is more limited than what you may think.

better than expected
extreme heavy duty, a lot heavier in weight and construction than expected. works perfectly for my 14amp overhead electric winch on a trolley.

They are fine for something but they are so stiff
We returned these. They are fine for something but they are so stiff, they have little use to us as stretch cords. Good quality material.
