great product, amazing seller
I love these book lights, I have ordered three of them now, one for myself and one for each of my children. My children's I ordered later, so they had a different style charging port than mine and somehow they both lost theirs. I contacted the seller and right away they said they would send out two new chargers for free, which was super generous of them. I like that these booklights are not disruptive to the sleep cycle at night because of their soft orange glow.

Great product, poor function
Love the product, but we can’t turn it off half the time. They have some fancy touch button that no one can figure out. Love the light output, but the power button makes it unusable.

outstanding.
Where have you been my whole life. Finally a dim reading light with a sleep friendly hue. there is nothing like this. That picture is totally accurate. If you get disturbed by bright light at night this is what you want. i am actually thinking of buying their reading lamp too but it is so darn expensive. Regarding this item, I love that you can open it up too, the battery should be replaceable even if they say it isn't. There are screws. I wish the leds lasted longer than 20-30k hours, there should be leds that last a lot longer than that, and honestly for 30 dollars i want at least 4-5 years out of this. I will update the review if something fails in the next few years. In terms of the initial performance, and specs of the light is is a great night or car reading light when night driving.

Too bright, and light spills throughout the room
Recently ordered this, hoping to use it to read books in bed after my partner had fallen asleep while avoiding the sleep-disruptive blue-ish light that so many LED book lights provide. While the light has a few things to recommend it, unfortunately, it's not appropriate for the purpose I have in mind.Pros:* The amber light is a nice warm color -- possibly even closer to orange than it appears in the photos. The color will not disrupt your sleep.* The build quality -- with one important exception -- is quite good: the device feels solid; the book clip is fairly strong without being overly so; the metal-bound necks are flexible but firm, and hold their positions well; and there's a satisfying click when you press the buttons on the "heads" to turn on the lights.* The charger port is USB-A to Micro-USB, so no proprietary connectors (meaning you can easily replace the cord if you lose it).Cons:* The big one: it's just too bright, even using only one light on the low setting. Bright enough to cast shadows elsewhere in the room, and of comparable brightness to the incandescent lamp I'm trying to replace. It's definitely bright enough to read by, sure, but it's much brighter than I need or want, to the point that (good color temperature notwithstanding) the intensity jolts me to feel more awake.* The other big one: the light spills throughout the room. I'm quite concerned that I'll wake my partner up using it, because even if I bring the head close to the page, the head has no shade to restrict the light to the book, and the (too-bright) light thus shines in all directions, including on her. What's more, a significant amount of light bleeds out through the white plastic of the heads -- they look like they're glowing, like embers.* The clip and body are a bit bulky -- fine for sturdy hardcovers, but perhaps less than ideal for paperbacks. Magazines are just a no-go (though to be fair, I doubt there are many decent book lights out there that could manage a magazine).* While function is more important than form, the white plastic, metal sheathing on the necks, shape of the heads, and large SomniLight logo on the clip make it look more like a medical device than something used for reading.* You have to cycle through the brightness levels -- not a big deal, there being just two, but it'd be nice to have the on/off switch and then a separate brightness setting button.Bottom-line, I appreciate that someone has made a decent book-light that takes color temperature into account. This would be a much better device if it had a third, dimmer light setting and a shade that prevented the light from spilling throughout the room. As it stands, it might work well for people who sleep alone, or who simply want a highly portable book lamp. If you're planning on reading after your partner falls asleep though, it may not be ideal.

Each light is independently turned on
Each light is independently turned on. There is a little switch on the top of each light which turns on the lamps in this order: low, high, off.Comes with USB cord (round -> USB) and USB adapter (USB -> AC wall).

Warm and soothing light to read/work by
I love the amber lighting and it helps me get sleepy earlier by using this and avoiding blue LED before bed. I use it to cross stitch and it works but I do have very good up close vision. If your vision isn't the best I would recommend getting a large magnifier in adddition to this light. Blue light is so bad for us so this is a nice option, despite it still being LED I definitely notice a difference with this. My only concern is durability - the plastic seems very flimsy so I hope it holds up considering the high price. If not, I will update my review.

On-Off Button Broke
This came highly recommended, and worked well until the return window closed. Then the bright-dim button quit working. A month after that the On-off button quit working.

Really nice while it works...
This light was more expensive than most I considered, but I ended up buying it anyway because I thought it would not be too bright, as most LED lights are. When it arrived, I was delighted with it; the amount of light was perfect, and the brightness was not oppressive. I also really liked how it was rechargeable. I love book lights, and it was easily my favorite I'd ever had.Fast forward just under ten months, and the light no longer recharges, and is thus unusable. When I really debated if I wanted to spend this much money on a light in the first place, it is quite disappointing to not even get a year of use out of it. For how long it ultimately lasted, I'd think $10-12 would be a more appropriate price point. And yet I liked this light well enough that I am still considering buying another one, and just hoping this one was an anomaly.
