Quick to learn, very fun gameplay, always a big hit!
🤠 The Quest for El Dorado is an awesome racing game with a well designed deck building mechanic and modular board. Every time you play you can build an entirely different track of jungles, rivers, towns, and caves and test out different deck building strategies for great variety. It’s SUPER simple—cards are used for traveling, purchasing, or abilities—and it’s easy to teach and quick to learn. The Heroes and Hexes expansion adds great content and more variability, but the Golden Temple stand-alone expansion can be passed on. Turns are fast paced with little down time, and the racing element always get my heart racing!

The road....to El Doradooooo...
I cant help but think about the animated movie when i think of this game, and i love both! You will definetly need a bit of table space for this game but its worth it. There are multiple tiles with lots of different configurations so the race always feels fresh, im the rulebook gal so im always reading and then explaining before i play games with anyone and i feel like it took me maybe 6 minutes to explain this game and then the race was on...at the end we were neck and neck and it was intense and fun, but also simple...sometimes you dont want to spend 20 minutes setting up the player board and 30 minutes selecting a character and then 3 hours trying to play through some tough scenario. Ease of learning and replayability for this game for me is high. Its also a pretty jungle theme, the cards are cute and small, watch the road to Eldorado while you play the game to fully submerge yourself in the theme!!

Excellent Game! RavensBurger is the leader in fun gaming!
What adventurous fun! Great 2 player game for my wife and I (but you can play with up to 4 people). It take about 45 min.-1 hour to play (not a including set up/breakdown). Top quality materials used too. Cards are half the size of regular playing cards but you get used to it. It comes with everything you need to get started and for break down. Many small zip lock type bags were included for storage in the nice big and thick box. There is a learning curve, so we watched some videos on Youtube of people going through the rules and a a playthrough. It is worth the time as it is a fun game and this fun game should not be discarded due to not understanding the rules. There is setup and instruction sheet which we read, but I get a greater understanding from supplementalbaudio and visuals too. Once learned, the game brings lots of fun, through both luck and skill. We like how there can be so many board variations and we even amended the rules ourselves such as in the event of a tie, players count their obstruction tiles and the player with the highest sum wins. So Glad we brought this game into our game board quiver. I recently bought the Golden Temples expansion and look forward to incorporating in the near future.

Great Family Game! Reiner's Best Game in Years?
Quest For El Dorado is a great family game! It mixes deck-building (one of my favorite game mechanics) with action on a board. It's the best game to do this since "Trains" all the way back in 2013 or so! I'm amazed more games haven't used this idea. I think has a lot of potential. Quest For El Dorado has a lot going for it: It's beautiful, it has deck-building in it (see above), it's a race game with an Indiana Jones-like theme, set up is fast, it has a lot of replay value and it can play in under an hour! What's to complain about? Nothing at all, actually! The game has been a big success with my family members and (most) of my game group! It's an excellent filler or warm up game for game nights. Nearly all the games have been close and filled with tension and thrills with even cheers of victory and groans of defeat! About the only flaw is that, as a deck-builder (or any game with card draw) is that the game can be EXTREMLY random! Hard-core Euro-gamers and/or players who hate randomness in games should avoid this game! Furthermore this is a decent potential for a runaway leader problem, as one player can get lucky and just draw all the cards he needs just when he/she needs them, while others can be stuck spinning their wheels. This can be frustrating for some. Highly recommend for the "right" gaming group/family!

Great Strategy:Great Theme!!!
Great game with a really fun theme! Deeper strategy than I initially thought it would be, but I still really like it! Love that it kind of "puts you in a different place" like you really are an explorer trying to make your way through the jungle to this lost temple. Great quality components, beautiful table presence, fun and immersive explorative theme! Does take a good little while to play and there is possibility for a bit of analysis paralysis causing this game to go a bit longer (which makes it not one of my most frequently played games even though I do LOVE it) - just does take pretty much in depth deep thinking/planning. Good exercise for the brain every once in a while and again a really cool theme to do so with! EXCELLENT value for the money!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was actually SUPER SURPRISED at this really high-quality game I ended up actually receiving to realize that WOW! I only paid around $20 - I think it was like $22 or something when I bought it? - for this thing!!!!!! REALLY cool how these components definitely match up to and are NO LESS THAN those of the better known and high quality much more expensive games!

Great game to play with any group!
The Quest for El Dorado is a great game for 2-4 players that involves racing across a treacherous terrain to reach the mythical City of Gold before any of your opponents. While the the game is easy to learn and can be taught even to players that don't normally play tabletop games, it still has a lot of depth as players plan their way through the jungle. The game very seamlessly incorporates the deck building elements without it becoming bloated and time consuming. By having the card market a side portion of the game, players can buy cards to spice up their deck if they have extra gold, but they aren't forced to buy every turn. Overall, The Quest for El Dorado is a great racing game with tons of replayablity while also being a very deep deck building game. Two Thumbs Up!

I bought this game after playing it a couple of times before and I wanted to introduce it to my son (five and a half years old). Because it is largely symbol based it doesn't require you to be able to read which is a bonus. I found it very easy to learn (but I am used to games of all complexities) and my son didn't have any issues either (he's also used to games). There is a lot of playability here. The map tiles can be arranged in many different ways. The rule book comes with a few examples (and you can find even more online) but you might as well just build your own maps to make every game unique. A game typically takes ~1 hour to play (less if you use less map tiles and possibly more if you set up a map with lots of "traps" and most of the time the games are close for us which means there is some suspense until the very end :)

I like that this is easy to learn and that you can change the board configuration creating a new game with a new strategy for each game.

The Quest for El Dorado is a fun and easy to play deck building racing game where players will race to see who reaches El Dorado first while blocking other players and trying to find the best path towards the final destination. Every turn is exciting as players will play cards to move and buy more cards to add to their deck which will show up in future turns. Enjoyable game from the whole family as each turn is fast moving and i definitely recommend playing with the caves variant as exploring them creates a sense of discovery for everyone. This gets a 9/10 from me.

It's just a lot of fun. One of the funest in my collection so far. I love racing games because it's easy to see whose in first and where the other players are. It makes a more exciting game. For example, Ticket to Ride is a lot of fun, but it's not as intense because a lot of times it's not obvious whose going to come in first place because of the score is added up at the end of the game.
