Nice Clock - Great Price
Very pleased with this clock. The chimes were a bit much, so I turned them off. It would be nice to have a little switch on the outside of the case so you could turn off the chime at night and turn them on during the day. The case looks good, it might look more realistic if it were distressed (showed some wear). It's an old clock, but it looks brand new. I was surprised that for a plastic case it looks like wood. Nice looking swinging pendulum. It emits a ticking sound but no tock sound as in tick-tock! I have an original wind-up school clock that ticks and tocks, which is the main reason I bought it years ago. The old antique school clock can't keep accurate time and needs winding too often. So I replaced it with this battery driven pendulum clock. It was two or three days before my wife noticed that the old antique had been replaced with this replica. I didn't think the hands were a correct design (for an old school clock) so I cut out some older looking hands from black paper, removed the back (six small screws) and exposed the face. I glued the paper cut-out hands to the modern looking hands (straight flat plastic bars) and now the clock has hands that look like it should for an old wind-up school clock.

Really nice clock!
I bought this clock for my mother's apartment because the wind up clock that she'd had for over 40 years stopped working. I researched many different clocks and chose this one based on the reviews and I'm glad I did. It's very light weight and although it's not wood, it looks like wood and it matches my mom's dark wood furniture perfectly. She said it's keeping perfect time and it was easy to get up and running. So glad I chose this for her!

Decent clock for given price
Decent clock for given price. The overall size, look and feel are good. Doesn't feel like faux wood when looked from far away. The clock machine ticking sound is not loud or annoying. The chime is decently loud and only plays the Westminister tune; it does not ring the clock hours at the end. Thus you can't tell what hour of the day it is just from the chime. The clock needs 4 AA size batteries, which is a lot. 1 for clock, 2 for chime and 1 for the pendulum to keep it swinging. The pendulum-swings have no correlation with the clock second hand. It swings at its own pace, hence feels fake if you observe it for a while. Overall a decent buy for bucks.

Excellent Quality, Reliability, and price!
I bought this clock a few years ago for a good dining room clock that would make noise on the top of the hour. This clock is made of a cheap plastic so don't be mistaken thinking it's a wooden clock. That being said it's an amazing clock that's still running great even after a few moves and some bubble wrapped trips! The chime has a digital sound to it but still works fine! The pendulum is nice although made of lightweight plastic so it can go crooked on the hook you place it on so take some time to make it straight.

absolutely horrible, the pendulum continues to just hover in the middle, I have made sure it is 'plumb' and 'square' on the wall, have replaced the batteries several times. it keeps time, and chimes, but is a cheap piece of plastic and not what I wanted and way too expensive. if the pendulum mechanism would work it would pass as a passable living room clock suitable to have visitors over... tired of pulling it off the wall and trying to put if back... poor product.

Good from far, but far from good
My dad bought this clock to remind his wife of her grandmother's. It is all plastic, but does work ok. It requires 4 batteries, one for the clock hands, one to power a magnet that keeps the pendulum moving, and 2 to power the digital chimes. It did not come with instructions, which made figuring out the chime setting a guessing game. When we first set it up it would chime the wrong number of times on the hour. There is a "set" button on the chime unit - each time it is pressed, the # of chimes will increase by 1. It will go thru its chime sequence whenever you press the set button to let you know how many times it will chime. Press it until it chimes 1 less time than the hour it is about to be. It should then increase by one and chime the correct number of times on the hour. The pendulum must be set in motion once the batteries are installed, and although it swings regularly, it is not in step with the second hand at all. Overall, the build is cheap and the only metal in the whole thing is battery terminals, a few screws and wires. It looks okay from a distance, sounds electronic when it chimes, but does work and keeps time fine. It would be a decent deal at half the price.

Attracts Grandma
Clock won't shut up. Dad made me get this for Mom to remind her to stay alert, aware, and awake throughout the days. My friends and I dream about knocking the clock off the wall and banging it upside the counter. However, this happens to be a good thig when unwanted visitors are over, because it reminds them when it's time to go home. Also, Grandma has been coming over more often, and even Grandpa won't stop dancing to the sound. It brings back their memories of their childhood. It's awesome that it makes my grandparents delighted, but for me, I think the clock is too happy. Overall, every family member has a different opinion on the clock. Mom loves it. Dad bought it. I got it. Grandad dances to it. Grandmom hums to it. The rest the teenagers want to smash it. The friends go home. Lol.
