It depends what brand you chose. The original recipe contains four ingredients, one is sheep sorrel. All essiac caps contain the four original ingredients given to nurse Caisse. What ever brand you buy you will get sheep sorrel.

Q: To Manufacturer: What kind of maltodextrin do you use in this supplement?

Thank you for your question. We don't actually add maltodextrin to our Essiac soft gels. Let me explain: In order to make our soft gels a size that people can swallow, we had to accept the fact that we could not fit all of our 8 herbs into the soft gel if we were to use just the 8 herbs in powder form. Therefore, we managed to fit 5 of the herbs into the soft gel in the powder format and the remaining 3 herbs we had to use herb extracts to "squeeze them in." When we purchase the extracts, the maltodextrin is used in the extract process of production, and therefore is a byproduct of the three extracts required for our proprietary blend. Also please be advised that the FDA states that maltodextrin is 100% safe for human consumption. The amount of maltodextrin is almost immeasurable and when we disclose the active ingredients on our label it states "maltodextrin from active ingredients" meaning that we don't add it but it is there because it is a byproduct of the extracts.
