Q: What would you rate this curler to other kinds from (1-10) and why? I'm thinking about getting this, but some of the reviews are making me question.

For me it is a 10. I suppose it all comes down to your hair and what you want to do with it. My hair is short and I am growing the top out to be more of a bob. This device works as a curler or a flat iron depending on how you use it. It has flat, heated paddles like any flat iron. It also blows air out of holes that are on the opposite side of the flat irons. If you want a curl instead of straight hair you need to pull your hair through the hot plates and at the same time twist the iron like you were using a curling iron. The cool air coming out of the holes sets the curl in. It is difficult to explain. Maybe you need to get on the L’ange website. I am sure someone from the company could explain better than I am.

Q: Will the product work in germany? i know i will need a different plug, but do i also need a converter?

It's dual voltage so you would just need an adapter to plug the US plug into an adapter that fits your outlets in Germany.

Q: What's the barrel size/size of the curl it makes? If that makes sense?

I'd say about an inch is the barrel size. I have only used it a couple of times because it's not as easy as the video makes it looks. It just takes some time to get used to.
