More sizes means greater versatility. *** UPDATED *** 9-16-2023
This set saved my bacon. My impact wrench severely rounded off a nut and I was "dead in the water" at that point. Luckily it wasn't a high importance or time sensitive job so I could wait a few days for delivery of this set. I researched other sets like Irwin, Harbor Freight and other brands carried by the auto parts stores, but in addition to some weird looking 'teeth' in some of them, they only had 5 pieces in a set. That's where this set shines. It has a LOT of sizes so there is a better chance of fitting the damaged fastener. I ordered this set because of concerns that the other sets would have sockets either too big or too small to fit what I was working on. Which means grinding down the stripped bolt head until it fits a smaller socket. The variety of sizes in this set would minimize having to do that if it's necessary.Another big plus for this set is that they are a mid-length socket so they are a little deeper than the other sets and can accommodate a longer stud or bolt if trying to remove a nut. Nowhere near a deep socket (TOPEC offers those also) but still could make a difference, which it did in my case which is why I purchased this set. Also the coating on these sockets is very hard. Even using an impact wrench (these are impact rated) there was no marks on the coating. I'm highly satisfied with the performance and the price of this set and it's in my arsenal of tools should the need arise in the future. Good luck finding a set like this locally so another plus for Amazon making these available.****** UPDATE after 1 year *******The above review was using them on common grade 8.8/ grade 5 fasteners and worked well. Didn't try with NON Hardened grade 10.9/ grade 8. However, I recently was helping a neighbor try to loosen the caliper bolts on his Chevy Suburban. The bolts are socket head cap screws that take an Allen wrench. Since it was pretty well rusted on and he already stripped the heads, I tried one of these sockets (5/8"/16mm). I hammered it on and applied the impact wrench. The socket just spun freely. Reason being that the teeth were flattened where they contacted head. Socket head cap screws are typically HARDENED and the socket just didn't bite in at all. Just made a flat spot on the teeth. So I wouldn't expect much success with anything hardened. My original review still stands for the grade of fastener (8.8) I removed, but like I said, no success on hardened bolt, especially one that has a rounded portion on the head like socket head screws do. There's no "corners" for the teeth to bite into (unless it's totally rounded off). Also like add that I witnessed an acquaintance using the IRWIN brand bolt extractor and it dug deeply into a bolt head and removed it. Rather impressed. And in the interim have read about good experiences with the (USA made and more expensive) ROCKET sockets. Being the occasional DIY, it may be a few years, or more, until I use these sockets again and they'll stay on the shelf until needed. I can't complain too much about the price I paid (~$30) considering it's large amount of sizes and it did get me out of a jam. Now I just have to use it within it's limitations. But if I was wrenching regularly, I'd investigate other brands too.

I LOVE THIS KIT! BUY IT
I LOVE THIS KIT!!I had a smaller set I picked up on Amazon a few years ago and it worked great, but I was faced with a broken motor motor mount bolt during the freshen up of my Oldsmobile 425.The smaller kit worked a little bit, but then I was between sizes. The little kit got me from 10mm to 3/8” which is 9.5mm…I used the 9.5mm, then the 9.2mm and got to the 8.7mm and spun the bolt right out! I would like to note that the bolt had no head…BUY THIS!! You will not regret it…I’ll be giving the smaller kit to my son when he starts working. He’s 16 right now and in trade school for welding…Please note, that I used an impact gun with a 16mm socket on the end. I did not use the extensions with the kit. Save your knuckles and use a power tool, but go slowDid I mention I love this kit? Because I do
