Wonderful pen, especially for artists!
Wow, a truly beautiful pen! I had never owned a fountain pen before and this pen has converted me to a full fledged love affair with them. It writes beautifully and so smooth, it is SO easy to fill, and the feeling of it in your hand is spectacular. It's so comfortable to hold, genuinely. Getting the right angle is a very slight learning curve, but as an artist who loves to illustrate scenery in ink... this pen is one of the nicest I've ever used.

Expectations Exceeded, Again
This is my second Jinhao 100. The Jinhao 100 Clear Demonstrator is a full sized pen. Build quality is very good. The writing experience rivals any pen that uses a JoWo nib and feed setup. It also uses International (Western) Standard cartridges and converters (2.6mm bore opening); be sure to confirm bore size when buying replacement cartridges from Amazon, because some sellers offer “Standard cartridges”, which may be Chinese Standard cartridges with a 3.4mm bore. The nib unit unscrews easily, allowing for Jinhao replacement nibs to be swapped in quickly. The nib and feed are friction fit into the carrier and can be pulled out easily for a detailed cleaning, as needed. If you’re looking for a fountain pen that offers consistent and reliable performance at a VERY reasonable price, you can’t go wrong with the Jinhao 100.

Beautiful pen, smooth writing, great value at the price point!
I love fountain pens. I'm not a collector, but I have five or six different fountain pens, each with different ink colors; most are budget friendly. I decided to add this to my collection based on the positive reviews, and I am glad I did. The pen writes smoothly and the ink flows nicely - not too wet, not too dry/skipping. The included ink converter holds a decent amount of ink - you can write at least a dozen pages before needing to refill the ink. I have a couple of Jinhao 82 pens and this pen writes much more smoothly than either of them (although all 3 have a medium nib, the ink doesn't flow as well in the 82s as it does with this pen. Really, I have no complaints with this pen, especially at the price point. The pen itself is very pretty and has a bit of iridescence in the light.

So juicy
This is the smoothest wettest most satisfying fountain pen I’ve used! Plus it’s amazing looking and feeling in the hand, very sturdy. You barely have to press on the paper. Edit: I bought another one and it was unsatisfying til I broke it in for a few weeks and now it’s as juicy as my other one. I wouldn’t still call this ‘the most’ smooth wet satisfying pen I have anymore since I’ve collected quite a few since I wrote that, but it’s still excellent. The 2nd one was writing more like a fine nib which I didn’t like, til I softened it up with lots of use and now it’s really good. Both medium nibs; first one I use with Pelikan Brilliant Black and 2nd one with Diamine Damson (deep purple).

Excellent Pen Great Price
This pen writes better than my Sailor Pro Gear Slim, hands down. It is a substantial pen in your hand, made beautifully and just writes like a dream. This is my second Century 100, and out of my whole pen collection, both my Century 100s are pens that write consistently well. Smooth nib, excellent weight of the pen, very well made. This isn’t just a good “beginners” pen. I’m not a fountain pen beginner. My 100 is sitting in my currently inked case right next to my Pilot Custom 823 (which I adore), but I enjoy writing with them both. You won’t regret this pen purchase, then you’ll like it so much you’ll want other colors.

Great pen marred by terrible cap seal
The pen is attractive and initially seemed to be well-built. The medium nib I ordered wrote well and reminded me of the medium nibs I've used on the Jinhao x450 and x750 pens (i.e., smooth and wet). Unfortunately, the cap seal on my pen is not sufficient to prevent ink evaporation. While I haven't experienced the frequent hard starts I get with the x450/x750s, the evaporation is more noticeable. Letting the pen sit capped for a few hours results in the ink being much darker for the first few lines and even displaying sheen that isn't usually present with Waterman Serenity Blue. After a paragraph or two, the color will return to normal. Checking the ink remaining in the converter shows that I'm losing nearly as much to evaporation as to writing. I have heard mixed reports about the cap seal from others, suggesting inconsistent quality control from Jinhao. I had expected better from this model, but that may have been unrealistic.

Great Looking, Disappointing Writer
I really want to love this pen. The colors are awesome. The way it feels holding it is awesome. The nib looks great. And it comes in at a decent price. All wins. The other 2 Jinhao pens I have, the 9019 and the 1935, which I love both, I was let down by this one. The first one came and was super scratchy. I tried 2 Sailor inks and 2 Pilot Iroshizuku inks, maybe it was the ink, but the pen performed the same with each of the inks. I exchanged that one. The next one came and I tried the same inks and found the same performance. My penmanship cannot be described as graceful and the way I write is probably too forceful, especially with elegant fountain pens, but this pen will be reserved for when I want to scratch something out. Good not great and a little disappointed.
