Had these for a year now. Same as when purchased. Use on grill or stove. Been through dishwasher a lot.

After losing one of my generic stainless tongs camping and bending the lock key on another I chose these to replace them. I went with the silicone coated tips because I just spent a ton of money on a large frying pan with a specialized nonstick surface and wanted to protect my investment. Work well with my stainless and cast iron cookware as well. I love that these tongs have silicone along the sides making them easier to hang onto and prop up on the edge of a pan or bowl without sliding. I also like the round silicone covered lock at the end (my old ones have/had a flat stainless piece which I bent on one). I think the silicone also adds a nice weight to them over plain stainless steel making them easier to control. Clean easily and still looking brand new after a month of constant use.

These tongs are exactly what I was hoping they would be: Safe for my non-stick pans and sturdy/strong enough to handle heavy foods while cooking. Note that the silicone *covers* the metal at the tips; the tips are not entirely, solely made of silicone. That is why they are strong through and through. I have used the large ones to heft 1.3 POUND chicken breasts around in a skillet with absolutely no trouble at all, and the small ones work wonderfully for smaller jobs. They wash up very easily by hand, but are also dishwasher-safe. They close up very tidily to fit into my very small drawer with room to spare. The packaging was neat and professional, and they arrived in a timely manner. (no surprise there, thank you Amazon!)

I have professional grade tongs I love. The kind where you put your name on them at social events so they end up back in your house. These tongs have two problems: (1) They feel flimsy and by that I mean compared to professional grade ones. (2) The silicon heat resistance pads are slippery. No surprise, it's silicon. That said, do you need heat resistance? Of course not. Did you ever in your entire life burned your hands using conventional tongs. No! Buy these and you will have tongs that cannot hold what you need them to and will serve no other purpose unless you work in a smelter. More succinctly; it's a stupid gimmick. I fell for it. Be smarter than me.May '22: OK, in all honesty I realized something I had not considered, the scratch resistance benefit. Tonight, I was making a nice paella in my ceramic lined Dutch oven and realized that these tongs were idea for not wrecking the finish. Never occurred to me so I'll apologize for not recognizing that advantage last time and plus this review up one star. Are the pads still slippery and kind of annoying? Of course, that is silicon. But, will you mess up a nice ceramic surface with them? Definitely not.

So a little bit about me, i am a dollar store lover. I’ve bought a ton of tongs there. They always end up failing. I broke down and decided to buy these, and OMG!!! These are a game changer. The build quality is great, they are very sturdy and give you a firm grip on whatever you’re using them for. Tonight I used them on full size chicken breasts, and they didn’t slip or twist. The plastic material is very grippy without being tacky, but smooth enough that washing is easy. I truly regret all the money I’ve thrown away on cheaper sets that have all failed me. These are by far worth every penny.

I ordered these because I saw all those Tasty cooking videos on Instagram, and decided to give silicone tongs a shot. They're much easier to cook with than a normal spatula. I like that they don't damage my pots and pans either.I scored this set of 3 on a lightning deal, and am looking for it to come on lightning deals again for my mom's house.The only reason I’m not buying another set immediately is I wish the tongs didn’t have that groove on the inside of the handles. It makes it more difficult to clean but I haven’t seen a pair of tongs that are flat anywhere else yet. Seems someone needs to fix the design of tongs!

Overall, for this price I was impressed with two things. 1st, speed of shipping and packaging were on point. Second, the silicon type heat-shielding (black part) on the tongs was much better than I had expected. It is not a hard plastic or inflexible material. These actually provide a good grip and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the grippy parts.On the improvement side, I would have appreciated a sturdier metal part to these but there are three of them, and they are not leaving my kitchen! I'm comfortable using these with the grill, salads, or making bacon. And the sizes are great. I've used them for a few days now and have dish-washed them and expect they'll last well.
