Camtastic
excellent fit. I had to modify the cam for my tool box but I knew this going in. cam size i needed was 5/8" and this was 1-1/4" as most seem to be that length.

Cabinet lock
Works great, matches my other hardware, easily installed. have had it installed for about 8 months...absolutely no issues. Nice to have extra remotes and sensitive electronics locked away securely.

Missing part
The lock seems fine, but it is missing the rotating arm that allows it to lock against something. Can't locate anywhere to contact the seller for the arm portion, so unusable.Update - 3 days later, no contact, no part, still can't use the lock.Update - 6 days later, still no contact, no part, had to fabricate the part to get my project finished. Very disappointed.

Tool Box Replacement Kobalt
Was looking for a replacement lock for my Kobalt Toolbox and it was a perfect fit. This black lock looked a bit more precise then the chrome one.

Caveat emptor
This is a very nice looking cam lock with a black finish. The impression that I get with it is that the cam itself is very strong and probably stronger than the item that you will place it on. This is what I would expect for a $13.95 cam lock. However, there seems to be some issues with what has been shipped to other customers as well as myself. When the package arrived from Amazon.com, I noticed that the keys were loose in the package (a large shipping envelope) and that the parts of the cam lock were out of the bag as well. The shipping envelope was secure, which means that Amazon.com did not put all of the parts in the shipping envelope or seal the little baggies that were to contain the keys and the cam lock. When I began checking the parts, I noticed that the steel cylinder nut was not included. I immediately went online and verified that this part was to have been shipped with the lock and found that it is stated in two places:“Cam lock ships with two keys, a steel cylinder nut, stop cam, 1-1/4” cam and cam nut – the tubular lock is constructed of zinc alloy and has a black finish…”And“Included In The Box• Tubular Cam Lock• Two Keys• Cylinder Nut• 1-1/4" Cam and Cam Nut”As both Gary H (May 30, 2017) and Todd H Kincaid (January 4, 2017) pointed out, there is no locking ring/washer included with this lock so I was not expecting one and did not need one since the application I intended to use it for firmly locked the lock in place so that it cannot turn once installed. However, missing the cylinder/body nut would make this cam lock completely useless!Kevin B (October 11, 2016) pointed out that his order was missing the rotating arm (cam) which would also render the lock useless. Thanks to his notation I was prepared for a partial shipment and had an old cylinder/body nut that I could salvage from a previous cam lock. This saved the day for me but I wonder how many others have spare parts lying around that they could press into use when they purchase a tubular cam lock with the intent of putting it right to work?I do not think this reflects negatively on FJM Security but on Amazon.com LLC because they are the ones who fulfilled the order. One would think that paying $13.95 for a cam lock would mean that you get all of the parts that you need but apparently this is incorrect. It seems that you are, in reality, purchasing the used version of this lock which does not include all of the parts and then are paying for the “free shipping” instead. If you will notice, the used version is half the price and clearly states it does not include all parts. Does Amazon.com have a box of tubular cam locks and spare parts that they just throw into bags without knowing what is supposed to go with locks? The lock itself and the cam appear very well-made but the lack of all needed parts makes me seriously wonder if it’s worth the $13.95 price tag. I think Amazon.com needs to start checking the products before they ship to make sure that the entire order is included and set up a way for customers to contact them in the event that there is a problem with the order, as they say in the “A-to-Z Guarantee.” All I have been able to find is a way to return the package at this point. This Amazon.com does not read the feedback, they are unaware of the problems. If you need this cam lock, I recommend that you order it and then go to Lowe’s hardware and purchase a similar lock for about $4 so that you have all of the parts that you need to put this one to work when it arrives. Ask yourself, is this a $17 cam lock?

Nice but could be better
Very well made and sturdy. Installation was not as easy as they should have been though. Most cylinder locks come with a locking ring that also prevent the cylinder from rotating in the hole, which these do NOT come with. I had to make my hole oblong in order to secure the cylinder, which is really pretty hard to do, especially given the thickness of the metal door to which I was installing these.
