I was going to purchase a similar item from a local electronics surplus store. At 20 cents for a single row of 10, this was a way better deal and the quality is identical

I bought these in hopes I could have a lower profile socket for a Pico as another reviewer stated, and was able to get it to work.Just use the pin headers sold for strip lighting, such as these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CKYKRSZ6 as they are thinner and round compared to the standard headers that come with controllers.Still, the lighting header pins may be a bit bigger than IC pins so these sockets may get stretched some, but as long as you're using the sockets for one or the other, shouldn't be a problem.The only caveat is that you'd want to push the pins down the plastic retainer so you have enough going int these sockets, and not too much poking up the controller board, perhaps with pliers.I sacrificed a few of these socket headers to gauge how far I needed to push the pins, which did stretch the socket holes, but I rather expected that.

I use these to socket transistors and other components in guitar pedal builds. They work fine for this purpose. But they are overpriced for the amount you get, I’ve seen them elsewhere for 30 cents each

I was looking for a solution to plug my microcontrollers into a PCB board but I didn't realize the socket size. These headers are met for IC components not microcontrollers boards. My bad. I do play around with electronics and IC circuits so not a total waste. They are well constructed and easy to break into the needed lengths. I was looking for a low profile connector which these are. Hope this helps

Wok with 2.54mm component pin spacing

As usual with uxcell, this is great quality. Pins are tapered so they just snap into the drill holes on a permanent breadboard. This makes soldering a... snap. No need to hold it in place with your third hand while soldering.

Use these when a regular socket blocks access to the copper traces on the front of a circuit board. These stand up on metal nubs giving you physical access to solder the top side traces to each pin. You'll need a fine tip soldering iron. Otherwise, you need to apply heat longer to the back side to ensure solders flows through the hole to the front. Too much heat will soften the plastic so be cautious.
