Worked for my Wisconsin motor.
Removed the end housing and with some effort, bolted it in.

Shorter than original.
Starter is shorter than the original. Could not use the bottom bracket. Seems to work fine without it.

Starter works fine but a had to change our the star gear on it the old grooves were deeper. The new one would hit the flywheel when engaged. Otherwise bolted right in.

I bought this starter for my 1983 johnson sea hoarse 25hp, I was very skeptical due to the price. This starter is working great and from the weight and looks it seems to be just as durable as the factory BOSH starter. I am a certified H.D. tech and once again was nervous that it might be light weight and just disappointing but it was not. Be careful on the install that you don't let it separate when removing the shipping nuts if required for install and you should not have any problems, THIS STARTER WAS A BARGAIN !!

Don’t buy this...
Mechanism seized extended ended up stripping out mounting screws! Now I’m left with a broken motor and the starter won’t be able to be returned? This is only the fifth time I’ve used it!
