Retique It Chalk Furniture Paint by Renaissance DIY, 16 oz (Pint), 59 Burgundy

I have used every chalk paint on the market and I have found Retique It to be the best. It is easy to apply and covers in 2 coats without a primer. It self-levels, the finish is great, and doesn't require sanding between coats. And the price is right. A pint comes in between $15 and $20 below popular brands that are shown on mostly every YouTube furniture painting video. I like the Retique It polycrylic also. The photo is a piece of furniture in process, but you can see the satin finish of the polycrylic on the top surface.

I had never heard of Chalk Paint before I decided to paint my white dining room table to match the new rug. OMG I want to use this on everything now. No dripping at all. Not one drop. So, clean up is so simple. Also, I just shook the can. No stirring and then trying to find what to do with the stirrer. It really dries in an hour and you can apply a second coat if you want. I only bought a pint, but it will be enough to do the table and four chairs. It really goes a long way. I am ordering two more colors to do the top of the table. I will take pictures when it is all complete.

It's my first time to use chalk paint. I used Burgundy to paint my Dining table and 6 chairs ( only 4 chairs are shown on photos). I ordered the De Luxe Starter kit with 32 oz paint and white & dark wax. There's still 8oz left in can. I made 2-3 coats depends if you want to cover a lighter paint on your original furniture. I did sand the furniture a little bit just to take of the gloss from previous paint. I noticed the difference with the other that I didn't sand. Its more smooth I think, it's still your choice if you don't want. Make sure to wash your brushes too and you can mix the chalk paint with a little bit of water in a separate container when the paint gets sticky. Just have fun and experiment. I'm not a professional just enjoying DIY's.

The product is very easy to use and covers very well. The color is not as dark as the picture on the chart. I'm going to try to darken with the wax.

I painted an old oak cabinet with the burgundy. I love this paint and I love the cabinet. Covered the dated oak in 2 coats, just beautiful! Paint changes as it dries t o a matte finish and it is amazing to watch. Just bought the Gothic Grey to redo a side table.

The paint went on smoothly and was easy to clean up. I was amazed at the ability to do this project with ease,because I have no experience with this, and couldn't be happier with the results. It looks more dusty rose than burgundy, but I am very satisfied.
