Definitely very sharp. The saw is the best one in the kit.
My neighbor is the one who loves hunting. So I let use these. I got these for when I go camping. They do work when he killed a deer. I am more wanting them for cooking or survival since the 1 knife has the hook blade. Both ways this kit performs very well. When I first got these it was very hot and I remember the handles were not hard at all and were bendable. When the temp lowers the handles were not as hot and became hardened. The blades I am not sure if they are harden steel. I don't think they are but are easily sharpened. The protection on the blades is not hard to remove and dud keep the blades protected from rust and other unwanted things to affect them. My neighbor said its not easy to find kits with the bone saw and I would agree with him and I also would say it would be the best part of the kit. The chest rib bone spreader is cool where not alot of effort was used to use the tool to open the chest cavity wider to work in there. The other 2 knives I like the little one where it reminds me of a paring knife. Easily to use. The longer knife is good on a fish. Pretty good set for the price. The case is good and wished there was a holster for the hip to put the kit in. All on all its a good quality kit for the price.

Great Quality Field Dressing kit!
This review is for the Vagmi Hunting field dressing kit – 5 pieceSolid field dressing kit. The Only thing I would want to see included in a kit of this type would be cutting sheers. That being said, the kit contains what it contains, which is a solid set of cutting instruments to handle most hunting needs. Whether you are going after small game or larger animals, this kit will meet most field dressing needs. The saw feels comfortable in the hand and has a good grip. I would prefer some type of “stop” at the end to keep in from accidentally coming out of contact with the object being cut, but not a deal breaker. The other knives seem sturdy and were all very sharp and ready to do the job to which they were intended. The ribcage spreader is a nice addition. Although I’ve never used one before, it seemed sturdy enough to get the job done.I was pleased with the overall package. It was light weight (important when having to hike with gear), well packaged and all tools seemed well manufactured. In addition they included a fire starting stick for good measure!

Pros:5CR SteelWear ResistantCorrosion ResistantDurableGiftableCons:HandlesNot SharpSmellWhat I received in the package:1 x VAGMI Hunting Field Dressing KitWhich Includes:1 x Wood & Bone Saw1 x Caping Knife1 x Gut Hook Skinner1 x Boning Knife1 x Flint & Striker1 x Chest Expander1 x Hard Storage CaseThis VAGMI Hunting Field Dressing Kit product I ordered to see if it could stand up to my vintage set. I have been hunting since I was a kid. I know my way around field dressing. While I know this will not stand up to the vintage set my grandfather used to use and handed down to me. I was curious what was being marketed now with regard to field dressing kits. I have not been able to actually use this in the field yet and after inspecting these. I will not be.All the knives seemed to be adequate. I ended up having to hone them just to be sure they will be sharp enough to use. The kit comes with your 4 basic tools. The boning knife is adequate but due to its lack of length cannot be used for filleting. I don’t really think it could serve a dual purpose of also being a filleting knife. The caping knife is standard as is the gut hook skinner.I lean heavily on a filleting knife for processing so as this kit doesn’t have one does limit its versatility for me. Also it doesn’t have a Butcher style boning saw. The grips are polypropylene and I wasn’t sure if they were going to slip when they get wet. That is the last thing you need when dressing an animal. You need a firm grip with no slip. These worked just fine when testing in water. They even seemed to have more grip. But unfortunately the material the handles are made makes these toxic in my opinion for use with food or field dressing. They are also made with no crevices or areas where anything can build up. They are easy to clean up. The case is nice for long term storage but I would prefer a roll up cloth pouch. The case is hard and protective but not very easy to carry when you are out in the thick of it.There is a lot of flex in the tools which after inspection found that these are not full tang. The knives are not sharp. Or at least not sharp enough for something you would want to use in the field. The handles have a rubbery feel which is fine but it feels like particles of it come off in your hands. They have that factory burned smell to them and it rubs off on your hands. I would imagine that it would rub off on what you are dressing in the field as well.I appreciate you taking the time to read this. All in all, this is a base starter set. It is missing a couple of key tools that I would personally cannot do without. For a $38 dollar kit at the time of this review, it is adequate. But the deal breaker is the handles. Feels like particles comes off as you hold it and they just stink. That stink transfers to whatever it or you touch. These could not compete with my hand-me-down tools but for a starter. But you could do a lot better. Save your money and buy some a bit more that you can count on. Hope this information was helpful. [2 Stars]

Worked on my first deer this year with this set, VERY SHARP!
Got my first deer this year with a bow, and I used this dressing kit which I noted were very sharp! It made dressing the deer so easy with these right tools. The chest spreader worked wonderfully while gutting the deer. The gut hook also works perfectly due to its design and sharpness. The handles are nice and not too slippery when it's wet, although I wish they were fatter for better control. Having a case is also a nice touch as it will keep his things organized and safe when not in use. The fire starter is also must to have when you're out in the woods, specially if you get cold. I'm hoping the Bonesaw will stay sharp for a while, the jury still out on this one.I only have one negative comment in this product, and that is the size of the handles, I wish they could have been fatter.Overall a good value for what you are getting, plus the case.
