Another terrific option for jazzing up my spoiled dachshunds’ dry food!
This very finely milled powder makes a broth my dogs love! It’s SO EASY! I’m always looking for ways to make my dogs dry dog food more interesting. They get César wet food on special occasions or when I’m lazy, but otherwise they are on dry food. Many of my old reviews about dog food are about how picky my late papillon Gigi was, and I spent forever trying to get her to eat. (She’d love one thing, then tire of it, or it would be discontinued, and I’d be searching again.) My current crowd is not quite so picky! In fact, Gillie once required a “Slow Down Bowl” so he wouldn’t scarf it in seemingly one giant vacuuming gulp. He was a stray, and it’s clear he lived a very tough life on the street for quite some time. He also used to grab all the food he could in his mouth, then take it somewhere “safe” to eat it; sometimes that place was up on my bed. (Oh well.) My two dachshunds get a 1/2 cup scoop of dry dog food, and then I have a number of options for jazzing it up. The first I ever tried was Himalayan Dog Chew Powder, a very, very fine powder made from yak’s milk, lime juice, and salt, hardened into rock-solid rectangular chews, then ground into powder. (The chews themselves are awesome, by the way, go read my review of those.) I sprinkle the powder over their kibble and stir it up, coating every bite with a fine dusting. They seem to love the added flavor, licking the bowl for every bit, especially Sophie, my long haired black-and-tan “mini” dachshund who is a mutant and is more the size of a medium corgi, not exaggerating. She’s got a glandular problem or something, too, because the poor girl is obese and we can’t figure out why, despite numerous tests, diet (she was on prescription dog food for the longest time, and it did nothing) and exercise; she gets exactly what the smaller dogs get (my parents have two “classic” wiener dogs like Gillie) but she is almost twice their size! I digress. (I digress a lot.) Next option, and what I’ve been doing longest, is adding to their kibble a tiny bit of a cholesterol free, Heart Healthy blend of canola, soybean, and olive oil, which is full of Omega-3 ALA. I stir until it coats every bite, and they love it. It gives them beautifully soft, shiny coats and got rid of Sophie’s dry skin and dandruff, which made her itch and her fur frizzy; now it’s silky and she looks less insane. Finally, we come to this, FLAVOR, natural flavoring powder. I was concerned the gang might not like it, because they decidedly, unanimously voted NO on the Etta Says brand Liver Flavoring Powder. That had a larger, flakier texture. This is a very very fine powder, finer than the Himalayan powder. I add a bit of water, mix it up, and have a nice (pretty thick looking) tasty broth! Back when it was freezing and snowing (in HOUSTON!) I heated up their broth for a cozy treat. They love the broth, drinking it up first before eating. It just takes a dash of powder to make the broth, and this jar has lasted us a long time, though I don’t use it every meal. The flip-top cap opens the whole lid, so I have to be careful when I add a dash. I don’t bother measuring it out with anything, though the lid is open like that probably so you can use a measuring spoon. As you can see, I love to give them variety. I have been so pleased with this FLAVOR powder that I added it to my Subscribe & Save auto-shipment, at a frequency of every other month. (I might increase that to 3 months.) How do I know how much Gillie likes it, and the oil as well? This guy who used to inhale food like it was the first and last meal he’d ever see, now WAITS PATIENTLY for me to finish doing whatever I’m doing to it. When it’s dinner time, he’s right there with me, while Sophie the princess regally waits to be served. I pour Gill’s food into his bowl, he *sniffs* it, and then STEPS ASIDE until I’ve stirred in the oil or made the broth! He actually goes, oh, hold up, this food isn’t ready yet, I’ll WAIT!

My picky eater finally loves meal time!
These food toppers are a total hit in my house! My dog is usually super picky with her kibble, but once I started sprinkling a little of this on top, she cleans her bowl every time. The different flavors keep things interesting, and I love that they’re made with natural, grain-free ingredients. It’s so easy to use — just shake a bit over her food, and she instantly gets excited. The bottles are a great size, the packaging is cute, and it’s nice to have all four flavors to switch between. If you’ve got a dog who turns their nose up at regular food, this is definitely worth trying. It makes mealtime fun again and gives me peace of mind knowing she’s actually eating! 🐶🍗✨

Great size, but hard to shake out
My dogs love it and it's a great value, but it is a pain and a half to shake out of the container. Almost makes me wanna look and see if I have an old salt shaker or something. That's how hard it is.

Dog loves it! Helped him eat his food again!
My dog was being picky about his food (he is historically picky about everything) and he LOVES this stuff! I also love that the ingredients are limited with his allergies. I only use a little sprinkle and shake it around his dry food and it’s lasted a long time.

My Cavapoo didn't like it
I thought my dog would like this, but she didn't so I gave it to my daughter to give to her dog, he will eat it sometimes. Giving it a 3 star for arriving on time

PICKIEST POOCH APPROVED!!!
I own one of the PICKIEST dogs I’ve ever met (who also introduced me to what food allergies look like) and I have struggled for 6 years between tummy issues and getting him to want his food. We finally got a great food but after a few months he doesn’t want to eat it, he had been waiting to eat until hours after I’d added dinner to his untouched breakfast (around 11pm). We use this at the pet hotel I work at and I tried it for my dog ONE TIME when I took him to work and he LOVES it! I’ve been able to get him to eat on a schedule (7am&7pm on the dot) and as you can see he’s excited he got a shaker of his own LOL. I would say of all dogs at the kennel it’s about 95% acceptance rate (meaning dogs eat it right away). Considering we have some VERY picky and nervous boarders… it’s actually about the best I’ve ever seen things accepted by that many dogs and that includes hot dogs at a training kennel I worked at! (Also if you’re asking “what dog doesn’t like hot dogs?!” My dog. My dog decides after the first bite that it’s not worth his time to chew and he spits it out. LOL)

Love it! Order it already!
I like this topper! Many people talk about the clumping being an issue but the ingredients clearly reflect this is an all natural topper so some clumping is expected. There are no additives equating to a better quality produce, which is great! If it’s too clumpy, use a spoon? Sprinkle it? Something… but I like it and my dog LOVES it! I’m very happy that my pup is now more interested in eating his food. Will be continuing to order! The cost is definitely appreciated.

For very Picky & very Spoiled dogs
My girl hasnt touched her kibble in days. And its my fault. I would always add whatever leftover meat I had onto her food. But in the last few weeks I noticed she only ate the meat and a little kibble. I decided to stop giving her my food, and she went days without touching her kibble. So I bought this as a last resort. I spritzed her food with a little water then sprinkled this stuff onto her kibble. And she ate it all up. I cant thank you guys enough. This is way more affordable than wet dog food toppings, this product is a life saver, Thank You!
