Simply Brilliant!
A truly wonderful game. It excels in terms of atmosphere and immersion. The graphics and sound are phenomenal. Not only that, the game mechanics, especially the shooting, is incredibly solid. It feels very satisfying when you put down an enemy. I found the environment extremely interesting throughout the entire game; nothing felt rehashed or boring. There's a lot of variety with the enemies too, quite a few one off special monsters, some of which are genuinely frightening. The game feels like a piece of art to me with many intricately designed and impressive looking buildings. There's even a huge and spectacular castle. They are all filled with intriguing contraptions, old style furniture, creepy looking statues, stuffed animals, and sellable antiques to find, all set in a world of gloomy forests, forbidding precipices, caves and rustic villages. It's all painstakingly crafted by a team of highly talented artists. The bosses are varied, challenging and satisfying. In addition, the shop keeper system is extremely good. It keeps you motivated to hunt for treasures to get money to upgrade your gear. It's quite a lengthy game, and, in the end, you feel like you have been on a huge adventure.Capcom just keeps on delivering the goods! I think they are the best gaming company in the world at the time of writing. They just keep on producing great games (which are not broken at launch, a rare thing these days). The only Resident Evil Remake that they didn't nail was Resident Evil 3, but boy did they make up for it with this one, BIG TIME.Also, I just bought the DLC for this game, and, DAM, Capcom delivered yet again. Their DLC for Village was pure class and this one is just as good. And it only costs £7.99! And for that you get a whole lot for your money. In summary, if you like horror, action, atmosphere and great characters, then this is the game for you!

One of the best horror games I've played (which is not a lot)
Resident Evil 4 Remake (or RE4R for short), is an intense survival horror game that will keep your toes up throughout the whole game.As a first time in the series, I thought it was Really fun, even though I am typically too scared to play these games. The gameplay is easy to understand, you have limited amount of space that you need to manually organise so you can fit weapons, ammo, resources (used to craft) and health to use throughout the whole game; you can also buy more space and certain locations with the money and treasures you've found on your path, which also can give you new weapons as well; and while it may still seem small, with how much ammo, health and resource you waste, you are going to be glad that you got that extra space. There are a variety of weapons in the game, some you'll use often and some that will be last resort stuff. The enemies are also tough, even some of the weaker enemies when there are hordes of them, and while some have weaknesses, you better be prepared as your resources will be drained (I even had points where i had no ammo found for ages after the encounters or before), though luckily they leave some. Especially when it comes to bosses, which I barely survived one of them in my first attempt. The story of the game is fun, the main character you play, Leon, is tasked to save the presidents Daughter, from this place somewhere in presumably Spain. The characters are charming, especially Leon, who you will love someway or another. Also if you like some lore, this game is packed with it, and I will probably check the other games in the series for this reason as well, besides everything else of course. The graphics are also really good looking, and the game has a few options that allow you to improve it more with stuff like raytracing or strand-based hair if you desire. The game has a really stable framerate at 60fps that I didn't notice any hiccups at all besides one part that didn't occur when I Respawned; though I played it in framerate mode, which has lower resolution than Resolution mode, so it might be a bit unstable in that mode but I haven't checked. Conclusion, if you want a intense survival horror game with a fun story with characters and lore you want to know more, I think this game is for you.

A faithful but improved remake
I will start by saying I have played and completed the original version of resident evil 4 if you have never played the original, skip the first paragraph. The remake adds a significant improvement in graphics along with some game play additions such as the crafting that were introduced in the resident evil 2 remake. Capcom have remained faithful to the core story of the original release but there are a few changes, some new sections, side quests and some back tracking is encouraged for useful rewards (not just for the sake of it, are actually worth doing). The biggest negative of the orginal version was Ashley who could be annoying to say the least, this has been fixed and the character now becomes are good part of the story instead of a sidekick you want to shoot. I personally was never a fan of the original quicktime events, these are also gone. This has not meant key moments have been removed, in fact they have been improved by the new gameplay mechanics such as the knife.Anyone that hasn't played resident evil 4 before, this game has a excellent graphics, great story, characters and gameplay. The game will be around 20 hours for your first playthrough but the game is highly replayable and future content is planned in the form of the mercenaries mode.I did not observe any bugs or concerns when playing on PS5, it was very smooth and polished. For both those that played the original version and those that didn't, this is highly recommended, the quality is up there with resident evil 2 remake or any AAA game today.
