I love this tortilla press. It's worked great and makes such a nice round shape every time. Such a time saver not having to roll them out.It's nice and heavy and seems like it'll last a lifetime!

Every expense was spared to make this the flimsiest chunk of scrap metal passing itself off as a tortilla press. My first tortilla I made was also my last because the handle snapped off on the literal first use. This however had the benefit of making me realize that the flaky coating barely clinging to the casting was lead-based paint.

One use, the handle broke off. Underneath the press you can see that there is very little metal support on the handle and the main hinge. Cast iron needs more support than this has. If I could give zero stars, I would.

This makes small to medium sized tortillas. I usually push down on the handle twice (turning each time) and that flattens the tortilla to my satisfaction. I need to tighten the bolt once in a while but that's simply because I haven't bothered to tighten with a wrench yet. It's pretty sturdy but sometimes I am leery of pressing too hard in case the handle breaks... but that has not happened.One hint is to use wax paper and parchment paper. This keeps the press clean and stick free, but also helps with cooking. I put the wax paper on the press, then the dough, and then a piece of parchment paper. Once flattened, I pull the wax paper off and set it aside. I then put my raw tortilla in the cast iron pan with the parchment paper facing up for maybe 20 seconds. In this way, it peals off the dough much easier. I usually have 1 piece of wax paper and 4 pieces of parchment so I can do several at a time.

Tortilla press is very heavy, presses easily and made my rounds really well. No unevenness.I do recommend this product!

This press seems very well made and of a heavy duty nature. I feel it will, with proper care, last a lifetime.I'm using 8" parchment rounds to keep the dough from sticking. Good so far and I can freeze the uncooked tortillas right in the rounds 'til I use them.This was a good buy.

Works really well but the coating immediately started chipping off. I just use parchment paper or plastic wrap to keep it out of the dough.
