Clam versus Eskimo
I have had an Eskimo shelter and a Clam shelter, what I like about the Eskimo is the tie down anchors and you can tie down the skirt of the shelter versus on the clam you can’t tie down the skirt and the tie down anchors are inside the shelter with a strap. I don’t like the tie down anchors that came with the clam shelter, I couldn’t even get one into the ice using a power drill. I will definitely have to upgrade my anchors. I however do think that the clam is a little warmer with the extra insulation and the windows don’t open versus the Eskimo the windows do open because of velcro which aren’t exactly air tight. I hope you find this review helpful ..

Lots of great modifications from early hub shelters
Clam Corp have outdone themselves. Every detail is superb. The hub is massive. The insulation works so well a small buddy heater warmed the shelter comfortably in mid teens weather. The 7'6" height was great for my 6'3" son! The improved zippers with fabric pulls and larger pop up loops to pull sides out worked great. The top even pops up easier than my older clam 1550 hub. Great modifications!

Huge
Got this to replace our homemade ice fishing house. It’s kinda heavy so you may need a sled to carry this and all the supplies (if you go by yourself, unless you want to make multiple trips). Definitely worth the price. Now to pray for ice.

pretty cool tent
I liked that the tent kept my kids warm. We went camping in the desert in winter here in cali. As you know in the desert it is hot during the day and below 32 during the night. The kids were able to stay warm inside the tent. We did not purchase the floor as it was way to heavy for what we needed, so we used tarps for the floor, and that worked fine. The only issue was that during the day time, the heat came right through the insulation, so we had a reflective tarp which we put on the roof, which seemed to work ok. I know the tent isn't meant for hot camping, but it was alright. Again, the biggest issue was the heat coming through the insulation during the day. That is why I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5

Best purchase of 2021
Coming from a sled style house I needed to go to a bigger house as my kids are growing. This has more space then anyone could need! It's got ample room for karate and other activities! The thermal cover will keep you warmer then a bun in the oven!It says 5-7 people but who really fishes with 5 people yet alone 7??? I would buy another without hesitation!I would recommend getting the Eskimo brand stakes to hold it down though because Clam's are terrible. They are no fun to put in and have no bite.
