I've been using the MAIWO Dual Bay Hard Drive Docking Station for a couple of weeks now, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. Good, affordable docking station for two drives. It’s been working flawlessly for about two years with two 12TB drives in RAID mode. It delivers speeds of 300+ MB/s, which is more than enough. It could probably go even faster if paired with faster drives.

The SATA docking station works well for SATA drives. I have tested it on 2.5 and 3.5 inch drives. The unit is nice and compact. The flaps that cover the docking areas look like they will keep the dust out just fine, which is good. However, I noticed when trying to remove the 3.5 inch drives that the flap gets stuck on the drive. It takes a little maneuvering to get the drive out. Not a big problem, I guess. You can always stick your finger in and hold the flap down to remove the SATA drive. MAIWO calls this a SATA docking station and USB 3.0 hub, but my experience and understanding of a USB hub is that it works when you put a USB stick into it. The USB hub part of this device doesn't work unless the unit is powered on--not just plugged into power but actually powered on with the on/off switch. Since you don't want to have it powered on when you're plugging in a SATA drive, you'll have to turn it off to do that and then back on. The USB hub part does work with no SATA drive plugged into the dock. I didn't buy this for the USB hub, but I thought it should work like any other USB hub. IMHO, it would have involved just a little more wiring inside to make the USB hub part work normally.

Works 100% and i haven't had any problems what so ever usb plugs work perfect and transfer speeds are on par I would buy again....

It was exactly as advertised and was delivered early. Works well with my setup and is plug-and-play.

On an old machine I was getting a warning that it might fail at any time...I pulled some files to thumbdrives and purchased this device on 8/16/2025. The drive telling me it was going to fail was an old 80Gig on a refurbished computer I had purchased years ago. I didn't see anthing thing like that available except on the used market so I picked up a couple of new 1 Terabyte inexpensive drives. I decided to try a direcect stand alone cloning with the old drive in slot 1 and the new drive in slot two. I had only one problem with the instructions where it said to keep pressing the buttion for 30 seconds...then I realized that it meant hold the button down for 30 seconds (on some devices pressing the button a number of times in a certain time limit is a command)...took at least 20 minutes to clone the drive...I had wandered off...Then I tried the cloned drive....it came up with the same error the old drive had reported....so I laughed...works great now...obviouly there is a great deal of space on the new drive I might be able to recover but the old drive had plenty of space for my purposes so I havn't botherd yet. Pleased with the product and plan to use more of it's features.

I brought this device for 2 reasons. It is a HDD docking station and it has a cloning feature built in. I originally was using it as a dock for expanding my computer storage - which it was and still is working great for that purpose; however, I wanted to try to clone data from one HDD (HDD #1) to another HDD (HDD #2) recently. Well, I can say the cloning works 100%.... but in my case HDD #2 was a larger storage size than #1, and for some reason after cloning the data to drive #2 it was only being detected with the smaller capacity as drive #1. Essentially, my larger storage drive was now only showing a very small capacity than it actually had. I had to format #2 and then it's full capacity was back. I was hoping the cloning would just essentially use a portion of the #2 drive and the rest still be available for more data - but it dosen't seem like that's the case. So my need for cloning was not fulfilled with this device.

Device working as per description. However, I received it with the wrong power pack, hence I had to purchase adapter power pack for Australia.,

So far this works with my M2 pro mac with dual 4 tb drives raided. Fantastic speed when in software raid mode and this is why I bought this. I was hoping for fast data transfer. Speeds up to 350 MB/s write and read with the raided drives. Excellent. Somewhat flimsy design with the little doors but otherwise decent enough. Works good, decent price.
