Simple and Efficient
Sturdy, well made, simple and efficient. Grip pad on the bottom of the base has yet to fail me. Word of warning. Don't just pat dry the stone and store it back in its cardboard box. Next time you go to use it, you'll have a moldy box and contents. Rinse it and let it sit out for several days to thoroughly air dry. I discovered this through user error, it's no fault of the product. 5 stars for it, 1 star for me. :)

It's actually a hard stone
Usually these sub $20 2inch stones all over Amazon are soft and dish very fast. This isn't, It's quite hard, feel is closer to a Shapton glass rather than say, a King 1k. Doesn't raise much slurry at all. Is it truly 3k/8k? Maybe, but it's definitely not a 600 feel or cut like others mentioned.

Not anywhere as advertised
This is totally not a 3000/8000 grit. The photo on the right is a Japanese whetstone (1000) the 8000 feels more like 600. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. As someone who has sharpened for 30 years this is completely junk!
