It's an elevating pleasure to be able to follow the great music genius' musical notation in all its detail and in his two magnificent and culminating symphonic expressions.

Smaller size made it easy to handle.

This book is from an interesting collection of classical music, but it is too small to try an play the music from. My nephew explained to me after I bought it for him as a gift that the book is only intended for following along when listening to the music being played by others. Works for me! /// WEL

This is an excellent resource! This book contains the full score for both "The Great G Minor" Symphony and the "Jupiter" Symphony. This volume was both affordable, portable, and very legible, although I think it could have been printed in a larger-page format. An excellent buy for anyone interested in analyzing these great symphonies!

40番と言うより最初のメロディーは誰でも知っている事でしょう、貧困と愛する妻の浪費癖に悩まされながらも階級社会に生きるモーツァルトにとって日々懸命に生きる苦悩と覚悟をこの曲の前後の39番・41番を聞くことによってより理解出来るのです、前後をあわせて3曲をわずかな月日で仕上げた事こそ、その自分の人生をどう生きるかの覚悟を示すための明確な意志を示すためのものだったのだと。そこにはあのアマデウスにあるような享楽的な彼の人間像ではなく、神童ともてはやされながらも湧き上がる音楽の啓示に常に切なる思いで取り組んできた彼の人生観が現れていると私は思っています。　40番は苦悩の中にある力強さを、41番は前に進もうとする堂々とした意志をあらわしています。　ドーバー版はねぇと言われる方もいらっしゃるかもしれませんがその価値は価格以上のものです、音源としてCDをあわせてお求めになられると良いでしょう、私はエマニュエル･クリヴィヌ指揮がお勧めです。　3曲をあわせてお聞きになるとモーツァルトの新しい人間像が見えてくる事でしょう。
