Ensure Pre-Surgery, Clear Carbohydrate Drink, Strawberry, 10 fl oz, 4 Count

This works great! I am diabetic and had to go on a 2 day clear fluid diet before surgery. I have struggled keeping my blood sugar and hunger under control. I bought this for this procedure and was pleasantly surprised. I bought strawberry, the flavor was good (no gag reflex) and with all the added nutrients I had better control on my blood sugar (no highs or lows) and it was a great meal replacement to curve off hunger. Recommend highly.

Surgery sucks, surgery and starving really sucks! ~ This makes what is not a fun filled event more bearable.

These are very good. The taste is good, akin to jello water. I had no trouble with them.

I was instructed to drink this Ensure product prior to surgery. Not sure why. It’s sugar water with some selenium and zinc. Couldn’t I simply have eaten more sugar, fruit, etc. and taken selenium and zinc supplements? It tastes like colonoscopy prep drink, which is to say it’s awful.

Was instructed to drink the night before and morning of surgery. It didn’t taste bad and actually tasted quite good for what it is. I did not come out of an anesthesia nauseas, did this contribute to that? I don’t know, but I’ll certainly take it again if instructed to do so

This was extremely helpful for my colonoscopy prep. It is a clear liquid that my doctor approved for the prep day and the morning of up until 3 hours before the procedure. I actually liked the taste, it helped me feel full, and it kept the lightheadedness at bay.

I was surprised by how many people think that this item, Ensure Pre-Surgery, is the same thing as Ensure sold at grocery stores. This is a special form of Ensure Clear, not just transparent, but without any color at all, which is designed to be a part of a strict clear liquids diet before a medical procedure, such as surgery or colonoscopy. You would not drink it more than a day, and there is no other reason to drink it other than for a medical procedure. It is totally clear (no color at all). It comes in strawberry flavor, but the flavor is very subtle and I would probably not even guessed that it is strawberry if it was not written on the bottle. It is probably an artificial strawberry flavor. The taste is agreeable, but I would not drink it if I did not have a good reason to. I used it for prep for colonoscopy. Ensure Pre-Surgery is not carried by grocery stores or pharmacies, so I was very glad to find it on Amazon. It is unlikely that someone would drink more than 4 bottles during the day of clear liquids diet (in most cases it is a one day prep, although it may be different in some cases, I just do not know). The difference with Ensure Clear is that Ensure Clear is transparent, but has a strong color to it (and tastes better). Depending on the type of medical procedure which you are preparing for, Ensure Clear might also work (and it would have more flavors and would taste better and it is also cheaper) - ask your doctor.

This product provided needed nourishment for a required clear liquid diet. It tastes good, but it is entirely too sweet for my taste.
