Leak Proof Platinum Silicone Sealing Lid Inserts/Liners for Mason Jars (10 Pack, Wide Mouth)

I store a lot of items in large canning jars. I make my version of Starbucks frapachino and make it in large quantities, so we can refill our travel mugs. I use half gallon wide mouth mason jars and bought the plastic one piece lids. They leak..and do not seal tightly, so I bought these silicone liners...they fit perfectly, come our easily (because of the little tab) for washing, and are thick and sturdy. These keep my jars from leaking and make an airtight seal for anything I want to store!! I love them!! I have ordered several sets...I highly recommend them, they will last forever, unless someone walks off with them...Awesome invention!!

These are perfectly acceptable Mason jar seals, but they are for standard-size lids, not wide-mouth lids. I elected not to return them because I can use them in other ways, but if you are looking for seals for wide-mouth Mason jars, this product is not it.

The two part metal lids are a pain to take off and on repeatedly when you are storing things in your jars. These liners let me reuse the metal rim piece by turning the duo essentially into a one piece sturdy, non-leaking lid. The silicone part doesn't fall out when I open the jar, but can be taken out for washing. Bonus for me is that I make large batches of chicken stock which I freeze in mason jars. I've actually had jars crack in the freezer when the liquid expands, but with these tops that is no longer a problem.I want to save my fresh metal lid liners for canning and with these, the rims can be reused often for non-canning storage. They are easier to handle than the metal liners, do well in the dishwasher and convert the metal rims into essentially one part jar covers. I was buying the plastic lids for non-canning use, but they aren't ideal as they tend to leak and don't always come clean in the dishwasher, plus they are bulky to store when not in use. I still use the ones I have with added liners, but find these meet my needs with no downsides.

I am limiting my use of plastics for durable materials that can last almost as long as my century old mason jars. Stainless steel may need some care but these are quality items with replaceable seals so I am happy with the product.
