Great for Minecraft fans!
Son in kindergarten and was having a hard time finding things he liked to read. Introduced these to him and he is asking for more. Great for younger readers!

Adventure! Friendship! Minecraft!
It's a wonderfully graphic novel and my 4 year old is hooked. Friends band together to go on adventures in the best game ever! It has taught my kiddo about the end and the nether and has even given him confidence to try survival mode. It even shows some turmoil within the friend group and how they navigate and solve the issues. If you're homophobic and don't want to see an adorable, casual romance between two girls develop, then you're missing out on the rest of the story. There's also a character that is androgynous, like many children naturally are! The diversity made my heart happy but was a tiny portion of the actual story. Perfectly "age appropriate" in my opinion.

My 6-year old loves these
My kid is an advanced reader, but because of his age I struggle to find stuff for him because he only wants things with LOTS of pictures. We checked these out from the library and he loved them so much he asked me to buy them so he could re-read them.Love the LBGTQ rep. It's important to teach kids that they're allowed to love who they want, and that the world is full of all kinds of people and relationships that are normal and worthy of respect.

Very Disappointed
Purchased this for my 8 year old son who has gotten super into Minecraft the past few months. As we made our way through the first story it was very apparent that 2 of the female characters were forming a relationship. It’s not explicit in any manner but I just have to ask why. Why does a story about Minecraft have to push this agenda. If you’re alright with this message the book does have nice art, beautiful color, and captures the spirit of the game. I would not recommend it for an 8 year old. I have been an avid comic reader and collector since the late 80s but the past 5 years has pushed me away from the industry and I really have no intention to encourage my son to get into the hobby. This is just another reminder that I have simply fallen out of touch with modern comic stories.

Not age appropriate
I purchased these for my 8 year old son thinking they’d be a quick read and fun topic for him. Since he loves Minecraft. Unfortunately at the end of the first book a lesbian romance develops and without any true reason for it. It was in there just to check mark diversity or something. It was not relevant to the story at all and it completely made him not want to read any of the books because he didn’t want romance or lesbians in the book he is reading which I totally agree with! We have nothing against any persons sexual choice but to just throw it in there like that was unnecessary. Especially I’m a children’s adventure comic.
