Really VERY exceptional for an ultra-small, light speaker!
This was exactly what I was looking for as a travel speaker! It is ultra-small, ultra-light (weighs just under 3 ounces), seems VERY sturdy, and with the volume turned up, it produces lots of good quality sound. The bluetooth seems to work fine, and there is an odd cable for plugging into your phone headphone output if you can't use bluetooth. It is a very sleek unit, with no apparent buttons (there is one, but it is almost invisible, on the bottom). I haven't used it for phone calls, and don't know about battery life yet. Some things to know: The adapter for plugging into a headphone jack uses up the same micro-USB that would be charging it, so you can't do both (not a problem for a Bluetooth user). Obviously, it isn't going to generate much bass. My experience with Anker so far has been very good. All in all, a very, very good value!

Do not buy this. DODGY!
Where to begin.Product reviews are clearly not the reviews of this product but of a different speaker by ANKER. This is an AMALEN speaker.Speaker came in a small, plain, dirty white box with no images or branding on the side, completely unsuitable as a gift, which is what I intended it for.Inside the box is the speaker and a tiny USB charging cable. When I say that's all that's inside the box, I mean that's ALL. No instructions, no packaging to hold the speaker in place, no marketing material that you'd expect to see when purchasing an electronics item. The charging cable was dirty, as if it had been used previously by someone else. The speaker had grubby marks on it, again as if it had already been used by someone else.AVOID. DO NOT BUY. Very dodgy that it has tonnes of reviews on it that are actually for a different product. Should be illegal to do that.

Eureka!
Until now, I couldn't understand why everyone gave up the robust sound of their stereo systems for their tinny iPhones. Now that I've spent the day listening to music on my Anker SoundCore Nano Bluetooth Speaker, I get it. Everyone should have one of these. Who knew? Compared to the sounds my iPhone can emit with no external speaker, the music coming out of my Anker SoundCore Nano Bluetooth Speaker is wondrous. It would be worthy of 5-stars if the speaker were not sitting on the floor, collecting dust, awaiting a cord longer than the 3-inch cable Anker supplied. Not sure how sturdy this little box is, so I bought the warranty to go along with it. I hope I'll be set for at least a couple of years now. Thank you, Anker, for giving me back my stereo sound with all of my iPhone convenience!

dissapointment
I never really complain about products AND I usually am very happy with ANKER products, but this thing is terrible. I dont know if I jut ended up with a defective unit, but the battery life is seriously less than an hour. I have to leave it plugged in. Also, even though my phone is less than 2 ft away from the speaker, I get interference and white noise from my OWN music library on my phone - no streaming or network connection issues should come into play. By comparison, I have the larger ANKER rectangular speaker and that thing is solid. To summarize, I either got stuck with a defective unit or this speaker sucks overall.

A nice speaker for the price.
This small speaker is well built and the sound is very good for its size and price range. I dropped it on my bathroom hard floor and all that happened was a small scratch on the black finish. I did not buy similar items before, therefore this is a specific, not a relative, opinion. I connected it with two Android phones, one Android tablet and two Echo devices without a glitch. I use it in a 900 sq. ft apartment and it works flawlessly everywhere. I am very satisfied and recommend the product.

Pretty good, I like it.
It's pretty good. Connects quickly and it's pretty loud. Almost perfect for my use case; Lost my voice, so I need a tiny speaker to "speak" with in louder than usual places. Maybe I missed how to do it, but it would be nice to have a way to raise or lower the volume directly on the speaker. There is an issue where it cuts out randomly, even when it's fully charged. It also has bad battery life sometimes... it just dies.

Worked fine before. Update!!!
It worked wonderfully right out the box the first day I got it. I tried to use it the other day, but now it won’t connect to my phone or iPad. I tried forgetting the device and turning it off and on and still no connection. I thought maybe I needed to charge it but still nothing. I’m going to contact the company and see about getting it replaced. Update!!!I figured out what was wrong. It was trying to connect to another device that was not mine. Apparently my friend had their Bluetooth on and it kept trying to connect to that one.

Tiny Speaker Gem!
This tiny gem of a speaker is a perfect stocking stuffer. It has so much clear tone power for its very unobtrusive size. Charge the battery, pair it to your music source (smart phone), and listen to music of your choice, anywhere. This product deserves much attention for people who are drawn to tiny portable speakers. I need to learn how to use it for making phone calls with my smart phone. I'm 83 and finding it more difficult to hear. What a value at $15!
