The hat fits. It protects well from the sun. The neck flap was not annoying like I thought it would be. When I get hot, I just dunk it in water and put it back on. So 5 stars for being a great sun hat. Now the bad news. I use the hat for fishing on our boat. I have tried pretty wide brimmed hats, but they get blown off, etc., so this is far superior to traditional women's sun hats. However, it is so ugly and has no feminine qualities at all and that is a problem, because on a lake, fishing, men will stand up, look around to see if there are any women, if they do not see any, they will whip it out and pee off the side of the boat. *gulp*, I've seen things

It's exactly as the image portrays and fits really well. The brim is soft and the material light. It seems well made and fits exactly how I hoped it would and being outdoors in the blazing sun checking terrain for construction sites. It's a more than welcomed addition to my gear.

Working outside for more than 11 hrs a day in Houston Texas is HOT. Honestly this helps out a lot. Keeps my face clean from the yard dirt and obviously Blocks the sun so no sunburn. The material feels cool so is not uncomfortable oh and I can actually breath with this one.

Well what can I say , this hat is very very light weight, very well made, and does what they it supposed to do and protect my neck from sunburn I love it and got it for a great price

Got nervous when I read an question/answer that stated that the hat wasn't big and wouldn't fit people with a head size of 7 3/4 or bigger, but it does with no problem and that info is false. I have a fairly big head and wear a 7 3/4 hat or larger and it fits great. I could even wear a bandana on my head and still fit the hat comfortably, and it even comes down over my head pretty far, like down to my eyebrows if I wanted to wear it that low. The neck protector piece is pretty long too and can even be tucked in the collar of your shirt if need be. Feels like very durable material. My only criticism so far is that the way the neck protector attaches isn't velcro like the way the face protector fits on, it uses 4 plastic s-curves that connect to rubber string loop attachments, the plastic pieces are fixed to the face protector. While this might be a better way to do so I'm not completely sold on it. I'd rather it be all velcro so the pieces can be attached easier. This opens up to running into a situation where one of the plastic pieces break, then what. Hopefully they are durable also like the material in the hat. But other than that minor issue, super great buy, might get another one for gardening and yard work because this one I purchased is solely for fishing.

The doc didn't like the light brown spot under my eye (looked like an age spot to me). It turned out to be melanoma and I had to go through the Mohs procedure, along with many stitches on my face--still recovering! I work outside a lot and didn't always wear a hat or sunscreen. I now wear sunscreen and this hat, with flaps (depending on what I'm doing and how long I'll be in the sun).

I have an extremely similar North Face hat without the neck and face protection, and it cost 25% more, so I'm happy to see that the quality of this hat seems to be just as good as that one. They are so similar that I wouldn't be surprised if they were made in the same factory and merely had different logos sewn onto the front.The reason I wanted a new hat, is because the old one was a bit smaller and wasn't providing enough protection for my neck, and the brim was getting floppy, especially in humid weather. I expect the brim of this new hat to suffer the same fate as it gets older -- it seems to be the same material and construction.The brim ranges from 3" to 3 1/4" in width. The diameter of the part your head fits into is 7 1/2", and there is an elastic drawstring to make it smaller as needed. The whole thing is a slight oval shape: 13.5" side-to-side, and 14.5" front-to-back.The material over your head -- that is, the material that is not the brim -- is a very light nylon and nylon mesh. This is good for me, because it will feel cooler than a thick hat, and it means I can stuff this in a bag and it will pack flat without any damage.

I hate hats, I've refused to wear them even skiing. Now, needing to protect my pate from hot Hawaiian sun I'm out in for hours every day, this hat is easy and comfortable to wear, for hours. Super lightweight yet holds its shape after a few washings, the neck guard easily covers shoulders. Plenty of coverage from the sun - but not hot! I would definitely buy another one when this wears out, which it shows no sign of doing yet!Update: after a few years, I bought exactly the same hat again. Looks like they may have improved with rust-proof grommets. My only other suggestion - make the sweat band Detachable for easy washing, and maybe a second to snap in while the first is getting cleaned?

It covers my head like a device thats meant to cover ur head using fabric, if I put the front mouth piece on I look like a terrorist and that excites the old lady eh, the front flap has them silly snap on the inside of the brim though so thats not very minty but other than that she should help keep the old neck from gettin any redder then she already is eh!

the item is ok, it is more a dark cream than a khaki. for the price I paid i was expecting better quality. the face mask has a mesh right in front of the nose and mouth area for breathing, but it is a different colour than the rest of the mask - you cannot see that from the listing photo,

pros: it works.cons: you will look like a cold-blooded assassin.

I purchased this hat to help prevent my elderly mother from COVID-19. She has breathing problems and gets short of breath when walking. She also wears hearing aids and glasses. The hat with the front panel provides an easy way to protect her. I pinned a mask to the front panel over the mesh. She just takes off her glasses and puts the hat on her head, then pulls down the face part. Works well and is not as hot as the mask alone. Good air circulation with air holes and mesh already built into the hat.This doesn’t get tangled in her hearing aids. She is very happy with it.

The item is exactly as described by the seller so kudos for that.Both the veil and the neck protector are easily detachable for those times that you don't want to wear one or the other.The fit around the headband is a wee bit tight for me (I don't think that I have an extraordinarily large melon for a head!) but I think that, with the passage of time, it will loosen to adjust.The vent around the top of the hat is a great idea.The only concern is that the material seems to be rather thin so I'm not sure how it will stand up to prolonged use and, in comparison to other articles of SPF clothing that I have, it is much thinner. I am hoping that it will really provide the protection that I need due to my recent episodes of skin cancer.All in all, I would tentatively recommend this product.I hope to do a follow-up review once I've used a few times.
