Beautiful book

I bought the second edition paperback. Some of the photos are superb, but I would have liked to have seen more scenic photos and less shots that could have been taken anywhere in the British Isles, eg. fishing trawler. I would also have liked to see more text; this is basically a small coffee table book. There is no bibliography and no index. The choice of cover shot is a bit strange. There are much better photos within the book that would have been better. I picked up a couple of errors. The fisherman depicted on page 64 is definitely not fly fishing, and the tetrapod trackway depicted on page 86 is not 4 million years of age - did the author mean 400 million?

Wonderful book!!!

Just bought this for an elderly neighbour now living in a nursing home who was born in the Kingdom of Kerry in the 1930's but moved away with her family at the age of 12. Because of her old age she'll never get to visit again so I bought her this treasure and if only I could tell you how much happiness and joy this book gave her and how all the stunning photographs jogged her memory. The photographer himself has an extensive knowledge of the county from having lived in Kerry and this is where this book shines, from his intimate knowledge of the place reflected in the jaw dropping images within. Lots of interesting and helpful text to go along with the pictures. Just enough to raise your curiosity and make you want to visit the places asap. Anyone who is thinking of visiting Kerry, or indeed, anyone who has spent anytime there at all will absolutely love this gorgeous book. It's a keeper and an absolute bargain- the hundreds of stunning images within will have you dreaming or visiting Kerry believe me. The book is very well laid out, easy to read and you can tell a lot of love has gone into it. I cannot recommend this book highly enough- an absolute gem- like the magnificent cold paradise of the Kingdom of Kerry itself.

I was looking for inspiration for places to visit in Kerry, and had to look no further. This book is well written with beautiful illustrations of the coastal county. Highly recommended!
