The Sketch-Book of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent. (Oxford World's Classics)

I was not aware of Sleepy Hollow being a short story (or novella), my husband was and told me it's not about the supernatural - while I was halfway through, wading through a lot of landscape descriptions and budgies of various sizes. I thought it was setting the scene for a scary ghost with the face of Christopher Walken. Well, I was disappointed as it's nothing like it and yet I liked the turn. It's a critique of xxxxxx says my husband. I think he may be right, or perhaps I should read it again. If anyone, like me, walks into this thinking the story is like the cinematic version, you'll be disappointed, perhaps pleasantly so.

I bought this book because I wanted to read "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". Was not aware it was a short story and the story itself disappointed me. This is a good book for those who like to read short stories but they are very very old (1830s-1850s) and are in the style of writing in those days. Some of the stories were cute but just not my taste when I am a tried and true thriller reader. Its a good reminder of just how far we have come in story telling.

Poco se puede decir de un libro de tapa dura. Está bien impreso y llegó en perfecto estado.El libro en sí es muy ameno, me encantan los relatos cortos y son muy útiles para practicar inglés.

Super Buch, genialer Autor, interessante Geschichte die eine unerwarteres Ende nimmt. Für alle Fans nur zu empfehlen wenn ihr mal wieder was neues wollt.
