Great carpet cleaner. My old one was huge. This one cleans well and i can move it around to clean difficult things. Its great for car carpets too!

Works great! holds water well and has a great size. looks great and is great on small areas.

I have two children and a cat, who spill and make messes all the time so having this machine is very handy. The attachment makes it easy to change especially when I want to switch heads. It does fill fast but definitely cleans great takes all the spots out of my carpet.

There are several competitors in this space that are fairly comparable. After reviewing all and purchasing the Shark StainStriker and Hoover, I will be keeping the Hoover. PROS - Large cleaning solution and waste water tanks. - Does not have a dedicated tank for an additional cleaning solution that I won't be using: I found Shark's dual solutions to not clean any better than one solution. (I did test using the branded cleaning solutions, but will not be using either in future.) - Very easy to clean with fewer parts to remove (Shark lets you clean absolutely everything, but it's a lot of little pieces). I like to clean after every carpet cleaning anyway, so I don't anticipate a lot of dried build-up. TIP: I rinse with water, then spray with Dawn's powerwash spray and rinse again. Super easy. - Main attachment has both nylon and rubber bristle options. Crevice attachment worked well on the creases and sides of a chair I cleaned. - Although initially a major concern of mine, the heavier weight is honestly not a big difference unless you'll be carrying up and down a lot of stairs. Mine mostly sits on the ground until I move to another area. - Compact size/storage. Built-in cord wrap for electrical cord and hose. Attachment holders in base. - Can generally find a sale and puts the Hoover about $20-30 less than the Shark. TIP: Hoover sells this model with a lot of confusing variations. Mainly it comes down to differences in electrical cord length and attachment options. I wanted the rubber bristle attachment (highly recommend), so opted for slightly shorter electrical cord, since that's what was available at the time. CONS - No pet trapper attachment. This is an attachment some have that collects pet waste before it goes into the unit's hose. I found it to be pretty gross to clean the pet trapper on the Shark. I'd rather dump the large waste tank and clean out the hose with the hose-cleaning attachment (which you're supposed to do anyway), than specifically clean a smaller waste trapper. But I also am mainly cleaning up mud and the occasional puppy accident (e.g. during my puppy's first heavy rain storm, she got scared of going into the backyard!), so your needs may vary. - Cleaning spray is heavy, so uses the cleaning solution much faster. I intend to use a non-scented cleaning solution, which is a lot less expensive than the Shark or Hoover brands anyway, so not a concern (this will void your warranty on most brands, fyi, but I'm allergic to artificial scents, and no major brand offers a truly scent-free option for portable cleaners (even the "free and clear" has a "light scent"!!) The cleaning solutions (with oxy or enzymes) seem to clean about the same anyway. - Biggest CON is that the main cleaning head is not at a great angle for long-term scrubbing of the carpet. Compared to the Shark's pet trapper (longer handle, better angle), it was much harder to scrub manually back and forth on stains for a large area (such as the carpet under our dining table). Definitely a workout and seems like it'd be really easy for Hoover to fix, so surprised it's not been done. I only (hopefully) need to clean like this occasionally, so willing to put up with it for the other PROs. - Less suction than the Shark. I mainly clean area rugs on tile (or seat upholstery), so not super worried about fast drying. Everything is pretty dry in a couple hours. All in all, pretty happy with the Hoover. Rugs and upholstery are definitely cleaner after use. Small enough to store easily, and simple enough to clean that I don't mind using it right away for fairly small stains. Great option for pet owners.

I wanted one of these for years, and now that I have it, I wish I’d bought it so much earlier! I’m in love with this thing. I have cleaned all my sofas and chairs with it, and I also cleaned four suitcases after a long international trip - and WOW, I can’t believe how dirty they were! This machine really got them looking like new. The best thing about this machine is its effectiveness against pet messes, namely cat puke - my poor senior cat sometimes can’t make it off our white rug in time, but this machine makes it look like nothing even happened. It’s amazing. Highly recommend. Tip: pretreat pet messes by blotting, then spraying with either Resolve or Oxy-Clean stain remover, let it sit a few minutes, then use this machine.

I use this for small household upholstery jobs but mostly for car cleanup as I travel with a dusty, big dog. This little machine works well for both jobs.

I have had another brand of carpet cleaner, but this one is far more surperior. It is small, suction is great, love the long cord and the hose is easy to use and is easy to store. Down sides: When you press the spray button it get stuck and it will just keep spraying (poor design). I learned this the hard way. The tank that you empty out is a little hard to open. I would buy it again when this one breaks but they do need to fix the design of the spay button!

UPDATE: AFTER A YEAR AND A HALF OF USING MAYBE SIX TIMES, THE SPRAY TRIGGER DOES NOT CLOSE THE WATER NOZZLE ALL THE WAY AND IT ENDS UP LEAKING. NOW THE SORAY NOZZLE IS STUCK AND TRIGGER WON'T WORK. I SHOULD HAVE CHECKED BECAUSE IT DOES HAVE A TWO YEAR WARRANTY ON MANUFACTURER PARTS. SO I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF THAT. Had 4 name brand spot cleaners over the years. This Hoover is the best! Good suction, ample cleaner and dirty water containers and easy to clean it! Only con is you have to slide the squirt nozzle on and off vs just pressing and let go. But easy to get used to.

Leaving a review after a long time, I finally got to effectively use it and for a portable carpet cleaner it’s really good much better than the small bissell green one. A must to have for every household. I used it all over my carpet. The good thing about this is that it won’t leave fabric feeling rough like many other chemicals can. Comes with a good variety of brushes and decent suction power. The cleaning chemical is quite small and will run out after one use especially for larger areas. It was very easy to clean out and put away very portable for sure.

I turn it on and only lasted 1sec. Tried to turn it on multiple times but was not successful. Refund was made.

Love this machine! Easy to use, out together and great suction to remove dirt! Highly recommend! I got it to use on my stairs when movers tracked in a whole bunch of dirt from their boots. I thought I’d have to buy new carpet for my stairs. Instead, thought I’d buy this and so glad I did! Worked amazingly!

This is a great little cleaner! Small, well designed, easy to use, easy to clean. We used it to clean our sofa, car seats, dining room seats. It's pretty compact and does quite a good job. Years ago we had a Bissell model, but eventually lost a piece and had to find a new cleaner. Glad that I found this one because it's much better.
