Sichuan Red Chili Powder - Savory Spicy 1lb(454g)

I bought this so I can make some hot chili oil and it was perfect. It is fragrant, spicy, flavorful, and fresh. I made the hot chili oil twice already and my family loves it. My husband actually uses it in everything now.

I use it to make chill oil. It smells and tastes like authentic. Recommended!

The product says powder, but they are more of a flake consistency which for my usage is more ideal. I use this product to make chili crisp which it is excellent for. It has a distinct flavor that makes it ideal for chili crisp so long as you don't accidentally burn the flakes. I have noticed the heat is sometimes inconsistent. I've made batches that'll make you cry, while my current batch is a mild heat. Lastly, be carefully using the dregs of the bag as I have had to pull out very small rocks, and once bit into one.

I live away from the city, and some of my favorite dishes require sichuan (some people call it Szechuan chili powder. Ma Po Tofu is one. You simply cannot make many Chinese or Nepalese food dishes correctly without having this key ingredient. And the the amount is huge for the money. The powder is more course than a powder, almost like flakes of chili. This makes it so much better as powders tend to disintegrate into the food. The sichuan is fresh and very tingly (this is not actually a pepper so it is not too hot, but rather it creates a tingle sensation on the tongue) Anyway, I will be buying this one again because it has the best value and it top-notch quality.

First time ever buying this type of chili pepper. Used it to make a chili oil. Not experienced in chili oil or this flavor but for all intents and purposes my oil came out delicious. Now, I understand what is meant when Sichuan pepper is described as "numbing". Yes it's hot but it's a different kind of hot.... Numbing sensation in the mouth. But still tasty.

Nothing to not like. !!! Will buy again, and tell everyone about this wonderful product. Am mostly using it for seasoned oil. FANTASTIC. Also just good old seasoning. Thank you for this fabulous seasoning.

This made wonderful, flavorful chili oil. The chilis are nice and crispy and there are very few seeds if any in the bag. The pepper seems to be of good quality. This chili is impossible to find in my area of the US but I love chili oil so I was happy to find a bulk deal on Amazon. The value for your money is great! I can make about 3 whole quarts of chili oil with this whole bag. Be careful if yiu have food allergies because this does have seasame seeds in it. They give a good nutty flavor to the chili oil
