When I couldn't find a suitable shelf locally , I turned to Amazon. This shelf unit was the size I needed, and sounded perfect for my needs...but after reading lots of the reviews, I wasn't sure.... some said it was light weight but sturdy, some said lightweight and flimsy, many complained about it arriving damaged and with missing parts.... but I took a chance and ordered it. When it arrived, the box indeed showed a lot of scuffing, a few places slightly torn and dented in, so I wasn't sure what shape the shelf would be in. There was quite a bit of styrofoam packing, and no major damage to box, so fortunately, the only part that was damaged was a small area in the cardboard back piece that was dented and partly torn. Since the unit is being used in a closet for supplies, toiletries etc, it wouldn't show, so I just put a piece of wide clear tape over it. Indeed, the individual shelves feel surprisingly light weight, but they are also thicker than the usual laminate shelves I've had. They actually feel quite sturdy. The side pieces were much heavier. The little pegs used for the movable shelves had a little projection on the top that fit precisely into a little hole on each shelf, making them more stable, and the shelf won't slide. The unit went together easily, my husband and I working together, and is perfect for the closet storage. I'm glad I took the chance...but I figured, since it is stated as being eligible for return, that if it was damaged and unusable, it could be returned at Kohls Amazon Return area.

Went together very quickly. Instructions were clear and correct. We used ours as a pantry storage in our laundry room.

Beautiful White Large Size Bookshelf & Easy to Put together with one person. I’ve been looking for a 30” inch width Bookshelf since I have minimum width space. Searched forever & found this Beautiful White Bookshelf. Price is a little high for cheaper lightweight materials but very Easy to Put together by myself. It’s the perfect size for your front living or family room. All others are small and not grand size for home. Once installed it came out beautiful. I just found one manufacture scratch.I purchased a smaller size other brand that came all dented every shelf & scratched it was soooo bad. This was nothing like that. It was almost perfect.I left out cardboard back side since I love the open bookshelf look without backing since I’m using for Plants & Open Shelves is my Esthetic.Con: This is very lightweight & flimsy. It’s very shaky. You will have to mount Bookshelf to wall for better support. If you don’t it will be wobbly. I did not mount because I’m the only one using the shelf. If you have children or pets mount to wall for better safety and security.Easy to put together or lift it up & move to wall once finished with one person.I’m using as Houseplant stand and I love the size so I recommend this because it’s the perfect size for a House. I recommended this Closetmaid Bookshelf minus one star for wobbly shelves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

1. Well made, and the pieces fit together well, all pieces are clearly labeled.2. All parts needed are included including wall attachment brackets with screws and 4, felt feet if your placing it on a non-carpeted floor). You will need a standard, Phillips head screwdriver and a hammer to assemble.3. Instruction manual is clear and easy to understand.4. Assembly time is about 30 minutes. One person can easily assemble this bookcase and stand it upright (I'm 67 and did it myself).5. Extremely sturdy and attractive. Thick construction of shelves and the cabinet will prevent bowing and sagging. The way the pieces are made allows for the thickness without the added weight.6. I ordered a white bookcase, and the color is bright white.7. This item is a bit pricier than similar bookcases from competitors, but the quality and appearance more than make up for the price difference. Well worth the money.8. Just ordered a second bookcase and will post photos when the remodeling project is complete.9. FYI. When opening the box, it's easier to open the ends and slide the pieces out than trying to open the box lengthwise and lift the pieces out.

Beefy. This is a sold bookcase. The sides are thick, the shelves are thick. It has the feel of something that can hold weight. The only shortcoming is the cheesy cardboard back. It won't make much of a difference if the case is set against a wall, but for something with so much heft, the wimpy backing is a disappointment. That aside, I am pleased. Moving into a new house I needed exactly what this had to offer, 150 inches of shelf space for work binders, some quite heavy. The thick shelves have four holes to accept the spikes on the tops of the shelf supports. This was a nice touch insuring stability. I thought it easy to assemble. Sure it takes a bit of time, about 1/2 hour, but there are not a lot of parts. Most of the time was for the nailing of the cardboard backing. The actual assembly was pretty speedy. I really liked this bookcase, and will be ordering a second to stand adjacent.

The packaging was ridiculously insufficient. It did not hold together during shipment. Pieces arrived damaged and were heavily covered in sawdust and grit. Hardware was missing completely. If you call the provided customer service number "for missing parts" you find out they do not provide missing parts. If you opt to return the item, a 30% restocking fee is charged. I won't be buying Closetmaid items in the future.

Exactly what I needed!! Very lightweight can be moved easily and in case of small children you have a attachment for the wall
