I bought this to specifically give me a step so I could load my kayak on my rack and tie it down much easier. Decent construction but you may want to make sure the vehicle you are using it on can support you on it.

This door step is easily adjustable and works well on the front and back door lock latches of both my mini-van and SUV. The narrowness works well with my mini-van's back door clearance and the length allows secure footing. Makes loading bikes and kayaks on the roof racks easier and gets you closer and higher than standing on the car seats or getting out a step ladder.

This is a very handy little thingamajig for anyone who has a roof cargo box. I can get up high enough to arrange skis, boards and bags on either side of the box. I also avoid getting my wet boots on the car seat. Easy to pop in and out. Folds up small for storage under a seat or in the car jack compartment.

Works good takes a sec to remember how it hooks up. But it’s easy once you know. Got to be careful as if you push away it can rock and become unstable to you HAVE to step and keep weight centered and down. I took a hard spill thinking it was more stable than it was. Be mindful! Not for kids!

The step works by hooking its hook to the car door striker plate hook. Lots of small parts involved to support the weight of a human body. I used it to access the roof of my high roof Ram Promaster van. It lifted me to more than 4.5 ft. from the ground. I was not confident on this device and started very carefully. After trying it several times, I am pretty sure that it is strong enough to support my weight.It is very convenient to quickly access vehicle roof than using a ladder since I keep it in the door pocket.
