Never tried a generic brand
I've been using this stuff since I was a kid 40 some odd years ago and it never disappoints. Saves a ton of nail holes in my kids rooms, putting up holiday decorations, or anywhere else you want to put something up that you know will eventually come down. And it lasts forever! Take something down, ball up the used stuff and put in a ziplock and in a week or a year still works. Every house should have a stick or two of this stuff around.

As a teacher, this is the only tack I use. Other brands dry out and lose adhesion, but this stays.

Perfect!
Perfect! Holds up our heavy framed pictures with ease! USE ALOT but FOLLOW Directions and you will NOT be disappointed. After much research, I'm glad we went with this brand. 5 packages later, I'm ready to order more!

This stuff is great to put up something lightweight
I like this product to stick light weight things on the wall without having to use some type of a hanger and make a hole. and it works great when it’s fresh out of the package but the adhesion seems to diminish quite a bit after the package is opened, even when placed into a Ziploc bag, it always worked great for the kids putting posters and things like that on their walls, and held up great but once you remove it, it’s supposed to be reusable and it’s really not because it loses its stickiness just like it does in the package overtime. It definitely has its place, but just don’t plan on keeping the package around too long and being able to still use it, best used when freshly opened.

CARFULL! Miss misleading ad
The ad clearly says Mount Putty 5 pack .Ads for this product have prices that are all over the map.2 Oz for less than $2 to ~$12 packs for around $30.I was looking for the best UNIT price.The item I ordered (5 thought!) seemed fair.Now I see that I should have ordered 5 of the 2 Oz. Packages.What is it that deliberately deceiving a buyer is called ?
