I have had the pleasure of meeting the Bonners and visiting Hope House not once but twice. They are the real deal, laid their lives on the line and I had amazing experiences that I could never forget because of their open hearts. At Hope House and with the Bonners I received encouragement, wisdom, answer to prayer, the opportunity to pray for healing and angelic help that involved a miracle. Thank the Lord! Bridget’s book had me in from the first page til the last….it was hard to put it down. The total raw honesty in her book was truly eye opening to the situation of homelessness and so much more in places like Peru . As the story wove between Bridget’s own upbringing , to her situation within her own family, her experiences with her in laws, to the people in the Amazon, then to the homeless children in Peru , it was obvious just how dedicated she was to God. But this dedication and faith was tested beyond any I can imagine. Despite things seeming so hopeless so many times…..Bridget ( and later Greg) never gave up, but instead gave it all to God and simply trusted Him to provide their every need. And boy, did God come through !! I fully recommend The Splendour of a Tear to everyone……this is a book everyone will enjoy….no matter what your beliefs . In no way is this a ‘ bible bashing’ story. It’s is true, very raw and very real…..and a very easy and gripping read. Loved it. Thank you for sharing your experiences with the world

This was the most amazing book I have ever read. A true story that does the heart good and restores faith in God and the people he uses to make this world a better place especially for children in a land of poverty. This is a must read fir everyone. It will be unforgettable and truly enjoyable experience.

I loved this book.It is written openly and honestly.I read it in just a few days -I couldn't put it down! The story follows a journey of self-discovery and the need we all have for purpose and meaning in our lives and how one woman achieved this .Together with her husband she gave hope and security to many abandoned children and gave them the chance for a better life.Truly inspirational!

I really recommend The Splendour of a Tear as a very moving book for those interested in real life adventure. Bridget has vividly portrayed life for the underprivileged street children of Peru. Her exposure caused her to reach out and do something. WOW! and what happened could only be termed, from my view, as no less than miraculous! This book will cause you to laugh and to cry….. It is a ‘must read’.
