Can't wait to start making the recipes!
Positives:The author proposed essential equipment and provided a grocery list, foods, shopping guide, and symptoms log for Fibromites.Incorporated personal experiences, stories, and useful practices.Introduced the term "mindful eating" in the text.Illustrated Fibromyalgia and related to cooking (very creative!)The author excessed the recommendation, she elaborated in them as well. There were numerous visual words to describe fruits and vegetables to be added to the dietProfessor Lopez encouraged Fibromites to utilize ingredients that are already in the pantry, freezer, and refrigerator.Encouraged very realistic expectations, the author never stated that after the first week, then symptoms will be cured or disappear. She motivates readers to be consistent and patient with symptoms and results. The author gave benefits of following 28 day meal plan. There were tips given on eating out, since there are people that do not always have time to cook (very realistic). The author gave side effects, so people are aware of what to expect when following this meal plan. The author remained positive throughout the text and conveyed that "there is a light at end of the tunnel." She stated to "stay the course and in no time, you will create new habits around foods in this plan."Recipes were organized according to gaining energy, promoting healthy digestion, pain management, and fighting brain fog.Negatives: None :)I look forward to making these recipes!

I felt like the author was speaking directly to me and I ...
I read half of the book last night and looked closely at the recipes and it was clear, concise and well presented! I felt like the author was speaking directly to me and I was engaged. Because of various health issues in my family, I have ordered many different "health issue specific" cookbooks and this is by far the best. Kudos to Kathleen Standafer MS RDN!

Good info, but too much work for someone in chronic pain
I was very excited and full of hope when I got this book. I like the information, but the recipes are not easy to follow for someone with chronic pain. The data is good and the book is well organized, BUT the servings on the recipes are not consistent and it takes too much time and effort to make them.I'm the only fibromyalgia patient in my house, nobody else like to eat a gazillion of veggies and roots; and the recipes are for 2, 4, 5, 6 and even 10 servings. Just dividing the ingredients in half is not always an option to make half of the recipe, because the results may differ. So I bought everything as per the book, I spent more than $400 (US) on the shopping list for Week 1 and I barely used half of it. Since everything was fresh, the other half was just wasted. After this, I went back to the reviews and I just realize that most of them where from people who got the book for free and were asked for a review and no from actual patients using the plan. So, if you have a big budget and somebody cooking for you, this book is great! If not, keep searching.

A great resource
The author did a great job of explaining fibromyalgia in simple terms. She didn't go into a lot of research details but there isn't much out there. An elimination diet is the main feature of this book along with recipes and an eating plan. I have had some success with a similar plan and am interested in adding some of her suggestions and recipes to my eating plan.

These recipes were tasty and easy to follow
These recipes were tasty and easy to follow, my suggestion is only buy the minimal ingredients because it's a lot to buy at one time and expensive it'll get bad for the next week you need to use them. but all in all great book to buy.

Life changing.
I bought this for my wife who has suffered fibromyalgia for years - brain fog, fatigue, anxiety and muscle pain. She has come on leaps and bounds after following the meal plan for four weeks and through it has found she is gluten and dairy intolerant. The book is well laid out and explains the meal plans and what the intention for each week is (Pain Management, Gaining Energy, Fighting Brain Fog, Promoting Healthy Digestion). After 4 weeks potentially problematic foods can be reintroduced with a diary to note their effects. The recipes are on the whole tasty but are not always easy and can require a bit of prep and time, this is difficult for someone with fibromyalgia brain fog and fatigue so help and support may be required. The calorie count is lower than what my wife was used to so it was difficult to adjust to, again help and support may be required to encourage someone through. Our house is a bit difficult with food, I’m vegetarian and the children can turn their nose up at anything different but we made it work and at least some things work for us all. It is actually nice to have some new recipes to add to the domestic food repertoire. The ingredients required for each week are grouped together into a shopping list - that is very helpful though I did find there were some ingredients a little out of the ordinary but we found most of them through our local health food shop and the internet if required. If it was easier for someone alone to follow I’d recommend it without reservation, “eating clean” and avoiding convenience food does require more effort and to be honest we found the first 2 weeks needed a second chef to help out. The experience was definitely worth it.

Too strict
It has good info but it is simply too strict and feels like another impossible diet book. Because I would rather work out, I couldn’t see this one through and don’t know if it works. If you have a strong will power then it could be worth trying. Otherwise, this book will likely rest in your bookshelf. I’m giving it 3 stars because of the additional info at the beginning.
