Attention Reviewers complaining the LED light doesn't stay on...Please Read!!
Bought this last month, installed on a Panasonic bath fan. Install is easy, directions are fairly clear. As directions state, you do need a white neutral wire present in the junction box where the switch will be installed. But the important thing that a lot of reviewers are missing is regarding the blue LED lights, THERE ARE TWO MODES OF OPERATION!!! You can switch between the two modes by holding down both the 5 min and 10 min buttons simultaneously until the all the blue lights blink twice (takes about 5 seconds). In the mode the switch arrives in, if you select a time button (lets say for the sake of argument 30 minutes), the blue LED light next to the 30 min button will flash twice and then go out. After 30 mins, the fan shuts off and all LED lights remain off. If you switch to the OTHER mode and then press that same 30 min button, the blue LED next to the 30 min button comes on and stays on the entire 30 mins. At the end of 30 mins, the fan stops and the blue LED goes out. The blue LEDs are quite bright, so I can see why they included two modes. Some people will want them on, some won't. The important thing to realize is you have a choice. Hopefully more people will actually read the directions before pontificating on a 'problem' that actually isn't one. RTFD!

A few improvements would make this switch perfect
I bought this switch to power a Panasonic bathroom fan. The Leviton timer switch I was initially considering is almost 3X the price, so I decided to give this one a shot. You can tell as you're unpackaging it that it's a quality product - the switch is packaged in protective bubble wrap, the packaging and instructions are high quality, it comes with good wire nuts, the wiring is both color coded and extremely well labeled. I now understand why Enerlites/top Greener products are so popular. The switch works is working well so far, and I'm hoping I'll get years of reliable operation from it. There are a handful of product improvements that would make this switch perfect, IMO:1. I wish they had a version with 5-10-15-30-45-60 minute buttons. You don't really need 2 and 4 hour buttons in a bathroom. At the same time, the lack of a 45 minute option is a big miss. It would give you the ability to have the fan on for 15 minutes while you're taking a shower, and then 30 minutes to dry the bathroom out, which is about perfect. With this switch, you're relegated to 30 or 60 minute increments in that range, which isn't ideal.2. This switch provides two lighting modes. In the first mode, when you press a time button, the little LED flashes twice then goes out, even as the fan remains on. In the other mode, when you press a button, the light stays on until the time runs out and the fan turns off. I wish they had a 3rd mode which left all of the LEDs on a low setting when the switch is off - it would make it easier to locate at night and in dim rooms. Enerlites does sell a different version of this unit where the LEDs stay on constantly, but with that one, you don't have the option to adjust the lighting modes. Why sell two different switches, instead of one that actually that offers 3 lighting modes?3. The default light setting (i.e., LED blinks twice then goes out) is wrong. It's far more intuitive for the LED to remain on as long as the switch is on. It's good that they give you an option to set this behavior, but it really should be the default behavior. It a nuisance because whenever the power goes out, the switch doesn't remember your preference, and you have to go and manually re-set the switch. If they made these 3 improvements, I think they'd have the perfect switch for bathroom fans.

Must have neutral wire. Other than that, easy to install and use.
I installed this to control the bathroom fan because a certain family member would always complain that no one else turns off the fan after turning it on. It took me about 30 minutes to install, and I'm definitely not an experienced electrician. A good part of the time is spent walking to the breaker panel and back. I also made a mistake and wired it incorrectly the first time around, swapping the hot (black) and load (red) wires. I'm glad to report that wiring it incorrectly does not cause it to blow up, it just doesn't work. The LEDs are blue. It's very easy to use. Each timer setting is labelled. Press "10 min" and it comes on, and stays on for 10 minutes. If you need to turn it off, press the large button. If you want it on until you turn it off, press and hold the large button until it comes on (about 8 seconds). When you press a time button, it flashes a couple of times. If you want it to stay on while the timer is running, press and hold the top 2 buttons until the LED flashes to change the mode. This pretty much does everything I need it to. The only thing I'd like to have is some way to know how much time is left on the timer. It would be nice if, for example, I press "2 hour" and the lights for 5 min, 10 min, 30 min, 60 min and 2 hour comes on. When only 60 minutes is left, the "2 hour" light goes off, and so on, until the "5 min" light goes off when it switches off. Maybe in the next version.

this looks nice. Before you buy a dozen of them for ...
Yes, this looks nice. Before you buy a dozen of them for your house, allow me to point out a few design faults:1. The worst part is the wire connection. Instead of the usual and reliable screw terminals, this comes with *stranded* wires coming out of the body of the switch. They supply rather large screw-on wire connectors in the package, but connecting a stranded wire with a couple of 12-gauge solid copper this way IS NOT a reliably connection. Plus, the 3 or 4 needed connectors take a huge amount of space in the box, which brings us to...2. The body of the switch is gigantic. It fills a standard box. If your box is crowded with wires, forget about it: There is simply no place. This means, you will have to replace the standard box with a bigger one--inside your drywall. Suddenly that quick installation becomes a much harder one.3. The logic of the buttons is questionable. For example, the manual button is not like you would think it is. By default, it turn on for the last duration that was selected! Only if you hold the button for more than 8 seconds, then it actually turns on the load forever, like a manual switch. This is NOT a quality product. It's a cheap, low quality switch made in China. Pass.

Installation can be an issue. Big button's function is unexpected
The installation was a pain in the neck because I live in a condo and they installed shallow electrical junction boxes in the construction (the box in the wall that the light switches connect to). The back of this product is big and bulky, and doesn't leave room for wires entering the shallow box. Wiring is pretty simple and has directions. Make sure to TURN OFF THE ELECTRICITY AT THE CIRCUIT BREAKER or get someone experienced to install it for you. When you press the time interval buttons, the light next to the button flashes a few times and turns off. The fan turns on for that amount of time. When you press the on/off button, the product remembers the time interval button you pressed last time and turns on the fan for that amount of time. The light flashes next to that time interval a few times and turns off.ex: press '5 mins' - fan turns on for 5 mins. The light next to "5 mins" button flashes a few times and turns off.Next time, you press the big "on/off" button - fan turns on for 5 mins. Light flashes a few times next to "5 mins" button and turns off.Press "on/off" button again to turn fan off.I wish the "on/off" button left the fan on indefinitely. I'm disappointed that wasn't mentioned in the description.

Great Switch, except....
This is exactly what we were in need of for our main floor bathroom. The switch was easy to install, had multiple fan times, PLUS it allowed you to keep the fan on forever (press and hold the large button for 5 seconds, the fan will turn on and stay on until to the large button is pressed again). The instructions were pretty clear, but it's just a couple of wires so it's not that hard to install :)The blue night is nice and bright, so when we walk by the bathroom we can see that the fan is on, even if we can't hear it. HOWEVER, the blue light doesn't always stay on. For some reason the switch keeps resetting itself every few weeks. Meaning, when you press one of the timers, the blue light flashes indicating the time has been selected, but then the light turns off. Not allowing you to know how long the time was set for. You can reset this by pressing and holding the 5 + 10 min buttons for 8 seconds, which causes the blue light to turn back on. But it just something you have to remember. With little kids, they don't every remember, and they like to push the 4 hour button!Over all a great switch, just wish the blue light stayed on all the time.

Timer works well but the six timer buttons and the large manual button are not independent
I bought this timer thinking the large manual ON/OFF button is independent of the six small timer buttons but no when the manual button is pressed it will use the last timer that was used so if you need to keep the lights/fan on without the timer you have to press and hold the manual button for 8 seconds I don't like this at all and sadly I found this out after installing the timer, I wish I could get my money back.

Used for the bathroom fan
Installed these in a new home we moved into recently, all the bathroom fan switches were not timed and we were used to having timed switches so we bought a few of these. They are great overall but I can't see me ever using a 4 hour timer on a bathroom fan. This may have other applications but the max time I would need is 60 minutes for a bathroom fan.Installation was quite easy just make sure the wires are stuffed in properly to allow the switch to fit properly. Wish this would have some sort of countdown timer where the LED light would go down as it reaches the next level time. At least it would give some indication as to how long the timer has been on for.Otherwise a decent product for a decent price and I would probably buy this again if needed.

Good product with small glitch
Well priced item at twenty four CDN. Looks better than the other options out there. Has a relatively small backside compared to some Leviton products so no problems sliding this into standard electrical box. As another reviewer mentioned, sometimes the circuit will reset itself and change from constant LED on to the 2-blink mode. Takes 5 seconds to correct the problem but it's annoying having to do it every few weeks.
