I have tried them all and if you want your BBQ better then your buddy who says he has the best BBQ,,,,,, My friends this stuff is the BEST.... As soon as you lite it,,,,the smell is amazing...... Makes my mouth water.. Then you slap that meat you have put you best seasoning on and put it on this amazing smelling charcoal.... AlI I can say is ....MOUTH WATERING.... Two big thumbs up from my husband! I surprised him with this charcoal, because he always goes on and on (and on) about how the briquettes at the store are terrible. He's originally from Brazil and he happily confirms that this charcoal is the real deal... the same style they use there. He is very pleased. As soon as I lit it, he came out of the house to see what the amazing aroma was. Thank you to the other reviewers for the great reviews that really helped me out on this one!! :D

I debated giving this product a two star rating, but ended up giving it a three. Bottom line, the charcoal chunks that are of reasonable size burn well and last very long. I especially like how easily the charcoal lights and works in both my big green egg and offset smoker. The charcoal lasts a reasonable amount of time, but I wouldn't say it is any better than BGE or a higher end B&B Charcoal product.My biggest disappointment is the amount and size, or lack thereof, of the charcoal bag. I would say that the first bag I used had over 20% small to ultra fine charcoal material. It was a major disappointment for a product that costs more than most of the competition. The material was virtually unusable in either of my charcoal cookers.This charcoal has quite a bit of hype, but ultimately fails to live up to the expectations. I'll go back to my cheaper B&B that I can get at numerous local vendors. Or if I want good quality, I'll buy a few bags of Fogo.

This stuff smells fantastic - kinda sweet, hard to describe but I love it. As other reviewers have said, it lights fast - but still maintains an expected burn time, probably due to the nice amount of medium/largish chunks, which is nice. I have had to break a couple in half but no 2x4's or anything like that. I'm about 1/2 way through the bag and no rocks, nails, etc. It does spark a little if it's heating up really fast, but I have yet to find a lump that doesn't - and it's very minimal/short lived. This is definitely among the best lumps I've used - try it, you won't be disappointed. I'll likely buy another bag, or three.

After reading about many lump charcoal I ended up trying this one.I have tried a few brands from my local stores but non had the nice smell and long burning like this one.95% of the lumps where the same size with the rest one the bigger size which I don't mind at all.It wasn't 90% tiny pieces with lots of dust and a few lumps like the other brands I have tied.I really like this brand and will keep buying even though a bit pricier than the other brands.

The bag I received had a lot of very small pieces and no pieces that I would consider medium or large. There was also a huge amount of dust. I had a really hard time controlling temps as I would get wild temp swings.

In my five years of charcoal cooking (Big Green Egg, and recently switched to a larger Kamado Joe), this is the best quality charcoal I have used. There are more larger chunks than most brands, and it really does like faster and burn slower and cleaner. I ordered four bags from Amazon to start. They arrived much sooner than estimated.I definitely will be ordering more.

I just recently received a new bag of this charcoal. The first order was great. The first bag was primarily large chunks with just smaller bits sifted to the bottom of the bag. I am on my third burn using the charcoal from this new bag and all of it is small pieces. There are only nice large chunks of charcoal here and there, and the product produces much more ash than the previous bag. I will not be ordering again, as the inconsistency is not worth the price.
