Airbnb is banning parties; I'm not going to be delisted because of some low-life tenant
I didn't know that these units existed. I had only heard about the noise monitors which seemed creepy. Somebody rents my house and then learns that I put a microphone inside the house? How does it tell the difference between a margarita blender and a party? And lots of parties don't make too much noise. The problem I'm worried about is property damage due to parties (also known as inebriation events)...because that costs me money.I could pay for this service by accepting a higher deductible on my property & casualty insurance...though I figure that preventing parties will do more to keep my rates low than will a higher deductible.iPhone setup is easy. I thought the cords were a little short, but longer cords are cheap to buy. Fortunately, my router is near the center of my house so I didn't need long cables. I haven't yet figured out to what extent the device is going to see cell phones of my neighbors, for example when they're in their backyards or sideyards and closer to my house. I chose a small house to minimize false positivesWhat worries me is the out-of-control >25-person party so I plan to keep the alert threshold pretty high. I'll see how many cell phones the device sees (i.e. neighbors' phones) when my house is empty, and set the alerts accordingly. I really like that I can track activity at the house when I'm travelling. I'll only need to call my local resource to visit the house. I am cautiously optimistic, but will come back to this review after I've used it for a year.

No support
Out of the box and during set up my device said it was already registered and was unable to connect. Contacted support which does not have any phone number btw. No email response yet. I’ll be returning this item and will be buying from a competitor.

Love this for protecting my house from unauthorized parties
My house is on a 4-acre parcel in Arizona. I bought the Party Squasher last month before the winter season. My big worry isn't party noise that will bother my neighbors. I'm worried about an unlikely but destructive party that I can't stop by the time I get to the house. My neighbors won't be able to warn me about the party because by the time they hear the noise, the damage will have started. I need early notice. Most short-term rental tenants are good people. They want a few nice nights in the country with beautiful landscapes and a great view of black skies at night. But no matter how hard I try to weed out problem tenants, one is going get through. I've never had a disaster, but now that a solution is available, I don't want to press my luck. I'm willing to invest in a little insurance to prevent abuse by a deceptive tenant. The Party Squisher product isn't a perfect people counter. If I turn off/on my phone, it initially gets counted as multiple phones. But when a dozen people arrive at my property, I know about it. Because my parcel is big, I set the "house size" to large and I get a pretty good real-time estimate of the number of people within 50 feet of the house. I know when the gardening crew show up or if the power goes off, as it sometimes does. :-) Not the goal but an added bonus. It's essential and reliable, but more expensive than I would have liked. (So is my insurance.)

For Professional Hosts & Property Managers this is a Must Have
I strongly recommend this device. If you are a *serious* host or short-term property manager, this is a must have device (and service). Really. I’ll try to summarize why I love these little devices so much: First, they are super easy to set up and use. You plug them in and they start reporting. I’m not super technical and have a lot of properties to watch, so whatever I use has to be stone cold simple. Second, the devices themselves can’t be messed with. I usually put the device in a locked closet. I experimented with noise detectors but they can be muffled by being put in a box or even with a simple piece of tape. Plus for a sufficiently large house you need multiple noise detection devices, which is a pain. Third, by installing these, I’m signaling to my neighbors that I’m a professional (expert tip: let all of your neighbors know as soon as you have installed these and that you are looking out for their interest). In the pandemic, and I suspect after the pandemic, allowing large gatherings and parties is a recipe for disaster in the short-term rental game. Fourth, these devices stop problems *before* they start rather than after a large party becomes a problem. They keep track of what I care about - too many people at my properties (whether a party or just overcrowding). From an improvement perspective, the reporting dashboard could be tweaked for very large property managers who have hundreds of properties and devices. In a nutshell, your neighbors will love you and your property will be protected, and I really recommend these for professional hosts.

Seems highly inaccurate. I regret buying it. The number varies randomly, even though nothing is happening at my house and I'm home alone. You can see anywhere from 8 to 16 devices, even when there are clearly only four devices anywhere in or near the house (router, firestick, one laptop, one phone). Before you ask: Yes, I already have it set to the smallest range, it's a free standing house, no other home if within range, and this is a fairly empty rental property, with just basic furniture, so I know for a fact that there aren't other devices lying around. There seems to be absolutely no correlation between the number of devices detected, and the number of devices in the home.
