Easy to use, holds excellent detail!
The Ecotex G2 gray emulsion is a great choice - especially for beginners! It’s easy to use, and holds EXCELLENT detail. Much better than I expected.I am new to screen printing, so I chose this option for ease of use. This is my setup and experience:I built a very simple exposure unit made from a 2x4 frame and placed 1/4” thick Starphire ultra clear glass on top (ordered from local glass dealer). The frame and glass are supported on both sides with boxes, so that the height from the light source to the glass is approx 18”. Cheap and easy to break down when not in use.The light source I used is a 50watt led UV unit that sells for just under $50 (do an internet search - lots of info on this unit, which sells on Amazon). The silk screen mesh count I used was 200. I built the screen frames and stretched the screens myself.I used a scoop coater and coated both sides of my screen. I was happy with the nice even coats. DO THIS IN A LIGHT SAFE ENVIRONMENT SO THE EMULSION DOESN’T REACT! After coating, I laid them flat flat side down supported by shims and let the screens dry overnight (approx 8 hours for me in a very dry basement).Keeping the area light-safe, I placed my transparencies on top of the glass (two transparencies printed on my home printer and doubled up for the darkest black possible). I then placed my screen with dry Ecotex gray emulsion over the transparencies and glass, flat side down. I placed a sheet of black construction paper on the inside (frame side) of screen to prevent any weird light bounce back, and placed a pillow on top. While pressing down on the pillow to create tight contact between the transparencies, I turned on the light unit to expose. With a digital kitchen timer, I performed a diy exposure test with eight different times (find info about this online). The result for me was 60 seconds of exposure time for the perfect burn. Fantastic detail!Next, I soaked both sides of the screen/ emulsion for one minute to allow the reaction to begin, then used a hose with flat spray to clean out the finished image. No pressure washer necessary!Great results. Excellent emulsion for beginners. note: you must use plastisol inks. Water based ink will break down this emulsion.I highly recommend Ecotex G2 gray emulsion!

Does not work
I just threw away my money with this product. This is not easy to clean off and I went through the entire container trying to get a screen print and was unsuccessful.Don't waste your time with this

easy to use
I haven't been silk screening for very long. I was using the green emulsion before. I wasn't sure about the difference. I didn't find a difference. Its a little thicker than the green I had. I actually prefer that. It made it easier to use. However, I have tried 4 times and it hasn’t worked yet. I tried exposing it different amounts of times, using different ink to print my transparencies, different times of day. Nothing. It just hasn’t worked for me. Very frustrated. I’m going back to green.

Easy to use but can't do detailed print
Easy to use but also easy to wash off. If you are doing fine and intricate pattern transfer, the finer parts will be washed off easily. Good for big letters and logos (kind of, there are other emulsions in the same price range), but don't buy it for fine graphics.

So far so good
The one difficulty with regular screen printing emulsion is, once sensitized, I have a limited amount of time to use it. The G2 emulsion allows me to keep it on the shelf longer since I'm not constantly making screens. The detail level seems to be on par with my regular emulsion and I'm very happy with the quality so far.

Hard to get set right and hard to see
I wasn’t impressed with this emulsion. I did as the instructions suggested but I ended up with a bunch of drips dried to the screen and had a hard time seeing the design as compared to other emulsions I have used. This may have been operator error but I did try a few different methods and ended up with the same results. I personally didn’t care for this one.

Cant see the outline
Works great but unlike many green emulsions you cant see the outline after you cure it.
