Cut resistant bot not cut or puncture proof.
I used to work in a window factory, and these are very similar to the sleeves we used there. they are great protection against cuts IF you are already being careful and paying attention to what you are doing. They do not however make you ten feet tall and bullet proof. Use care and these should last you at least a couple months of 8-10 hour a day use. Glad to have them at home now.

Good value
Wear these for welding and they work perfectly. These are labeled as cut resistant because they’re Kevlar, but also make great welding sleeves because they’re Kevlar.

Nice product for the price.
I bought these, so I can wrestle with my kitten without getting my arms torn up. They work very well for that purpose. After several months of use there are some threads pulled out, but they still protect my arms.

My husband takes Warfarin (Coumadin) and looked like a mess
My husband takes Warfarin (Coumadin) and looked like a mess. Bruises and skin tears all over his arms. We bought two products, SecureSleeves and these Kevlar sleeves. Both worked well but he uses them at different times. The others look more like skin and aren't as noticeable. He wears them when he's going to be around people/ public. He uses the Kevlar ones to work around the yard and garden.Huge improvement in the health of his arms. Now every time he has an issue, it was because he wasn't wearing his sleeves. In season he picks raspberries daily and this sleeve keeps him safe. I am thankful I rarely need to bandage him up any more.Only draw back was the yellow color makes him really stand out. It also gets stained and dirty looking. These were much cheaper than others I looked at, so replacing one too ugly is not a problem.

SHORT SLEEVE OR LONG SLEEVE?
These Kevlar sleeves are adequate forearm protection for most jobs. They provide a safety shield against burns, cuts, scraps, and some sharp objects, not all. A needle or safety pin will go right through the material with no problem. The jobs that pose this risk are too many to list.Since most thorns are flared, they do not penetrate the kevlar as easily as needles.Years ago, I made a great pair of sleeves out of heavy cotton duck cloth and Velcro. They did the job but they were rather stiff and hot.Keep in mind, there are reasonable limits governed by common sense. If you jam your arm into a table saw or stab it with a ice pick, you might need to see a doctor. The sleeves I'm currently wearing have been washed several times. They are now 15 inches long from hem to hem. The new, unworn sleeves are 18 inches from hem to hem.The same two problems exist with both the Kevlar and my homemade sleeves:1. After being worn for awhile, they tend to fold down toward the wrist. Simply pin the protector to your shirt sleeve with a large safety pin. Pinning this material is easy. If you don't wear a shirt, you have a bigger problem than I want to belly up to.2. If these sleeve protectors are worn for hours in hot conditions, some folks might suffer from a heat rash on their arms which might be as painful as thorn pricks. This is nothing more than the same fungus that causes diaper rash. Again, the solution is simple. Coat your arms with 40% zinc oxide ointment and bath powder beforehand. Most drugstores and big-box marts carry their own store brands. It's commonly called diaper rash ointment and baby powder.Whatever works best usually is.

Not safe for real work great for home use
I am not sure if this is real Kevlar or not. They cut easily with a new straight razor on a block of wood. I am not impressed. One thing that is not listed here is flame spread. I sacrificed one for science and my personal safety. With a butane torch it took about 3-5 seconds for a flame to start. It burned on its own without spreading for about twice that long and went out. Dirty (artificially) with alcohol and used engine oil they did about the same except with household oil (pb50 comparable to wd40) it burned readily and vigorously very dangerous. Conclusion: they are great arm warmers and for general protection. However for serous work like welding or glass-work that requires cut resistant clothing or fire resistance they are worthless. Anything more than light grinding is not safe.

Does as advertised
works well as a general protection for accidental injury probably wouldn't trust enough for a sword fight or anything but does a good job at accidental cuts
