I bought this because it was recommended by Dr. Gregor in his masterpiece “How Not to Age” and I know how meticulous his research is. What I didn’t expect was how much I like the taste. I grind it in a coffee grinder and put some in everything from soups and stews to oatmeal (along with cinnamon and cacao).

I really like this long pepper. When you grind it up in a little single use coffee bean grinder, and then put it into a pepper shaker one needs very little of it to bring out a lot of his flavor. More so than grinding it with a pepper grinder.Lots of flavor. There are a few other benefits as well. You'll just have to look them up.

While fresh and of high quality, this Long Pepper has a sharper, brighter and less savory flavor when compared to black peppercorns, while the Long Pepper I got from a different supplier had a deeper, earthier flavor.The clusters of this version are also smaller by half and less granular than the ones I used to get, which probably means it's a different cultivar.In fairness the description of this product on Amazon is very accurate, I just (wrongly) assumed that the product copy was either lost in translation, or written by someone who hadn't actually tasted it, lol.

I am so excited to use this in my cooking, This is my first experience with Long Pepper but it is a beautiful and fragrent spice that is certainly going to elevate all of my recipes.

Perfect; I grind it with equal parts of black peppercorn. It about twice as hot as regular black peppercorn.

Delicious, fragrant long pepper. My fiance loves black pepper, I decided to gift this to him after seeing a youtube short about long pepper being used by ancient Romans. Now he only wants long pepper because the flavor is so much more intense and rich. High quality, fresh long pepper and will be back for more.

Very good in any food! Delicate hot.
